Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities:

  • Potentially supervise and run a small crew – depending on experience
  • Excavate for and build bioretention facilities, rain gardens, ponds, sediment basins, and other storm-water management facilities/BMPs
  • Muck out and re-grade ponds
  • Shoot grades for stakeout and read/interpret cut sheets
  • Operate skid-steer and/or mini excavator and/or heavy equipment to trench, grade, and excavate
  • Run underdrain or E&S crew when not running larger equipment by running mini excavators and managing 2-3 man crew
  • Complete other grading and excavation needs per the request of our clients

Physical Requirements:

  • Employee must be physically fit to perform duties of the job in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Regularly required to sit and stand, must be able to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and verbally communicate and listen.
  • Other physical requirements include walking, climbing, balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending or crawling.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the position include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements:

  • Eligible for employment in the United States
  • 1-5 years’ of experience with bobcat and/or mini excavator or larger equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Reliable transportation 

Compensation:

  • Up to $30/hr depending on experience
