Global Head of Brand

The Senior Director, Global Brand is a strategic leader responsible for shaping the long-term innovation strategy for Murad.

As a pioneer in the wellness space, Murad is looking for a talented marketer to drive its global transformation, with a key focus on the United States, China, and UK. The role will lead the overall Brand Strategy, Crafting, and Innovation to accelerate the brand’s growth.

The ideal candidate will own the global product pipeline, lead consumer-centric innovation, and ensure operational excellence from concept creation through commercialization. The right candidate combines an understanding of portfolio strategy, data-driven decision making, and expertise in marketing analytics and operations with a deep passion for skincare innovation and consumer well-being.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a 3-year global innovation pipeline and 18-month innovation calendar, ensuring alignment with refreshed brand positioning, business ambition, and growth targets.
  • Lead Brand Architecture: hero strategy, life cycle management, SKU productivity, pricing, category expansion opportunities, and rationalization initiatives.
  • Shepard all product marketing workstreams through proper governance and collaboration with the cross-functional team, in line with business’s financial framework.
  • Lead global product marketing asset creation, including strategic briefs, claims narrative, RTB frameworks, product narrative, etc.

Consumer, Data, & Insight-Led Decision Making

  • Translate insights (market, consumer, competitive, scientific) into compelling commercial propositions that deliver incremental and sustainable growth.
  • Champion a consumer-centric mindset, integrating insights and trends into every stage of product conceptualization and commercialization.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and track market shifts to identify long-term white-space and new business opportunities.

Global & Regional Commercial Partnership

  • Serve as a key strategic and execution partner to key markets and channels, supporting brand and commercial alignment. Gather and integrate feedback into global innovation and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with Channel leads, Creative, and Consumer Engagement teams to build compelling launch stories anchored in refreshed brand positioning and product superiority.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global product marketing organization.
  • Advance team capabilities in insights integration, analytics, precision storytelling, and global commercialization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, trust, accountability, and consumer centricity across the cross-functional teams.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Drive portfolio performance tracking through standardized dashboards, KPIs, and post-launch analytics.
  • Ensure operational discipline, forecast accuracy, and timely delivery of launches in partnership with cross-functional teams

Key Success Metrics

  • Increase the innovation success rate (iTO/Portfolio) and the total brand’s share
  • Strengthen Brand Health & Equity
  • Deliver activity plans and innovation programs that drive topline growth and medium-term brand share.
  • Strong team engagement and people development

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10–15+ years of experience in prestige beauty, skincare, personal care, or adjacent categories.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering compelling, relevant, commercially successful product innovations.
  • Experience managing and developing young, emerging talent.
  • Experience working within a matrixed global organization (Unilever, L’Oréal, ELC, Shiseido, P&G, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Well-versed in leading stage-gate processes, orchestrating cross-functional alignment, overseeing cost/COGs governance, and forecasting efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, foster alignment, and galvanize teams across global and regional markets.

The expected base salary for this position is $200,000 to $215,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
