Job Summary
The Senior Quantitative Research Analyst will serve as a core contributor to MX’s thought leadership and market intelligence efforts, responsible for developing rigorous quantitative analyses that connect consumer financial behavior to broader financial services outcomes. This role is accountable for designing and validating analytical models that quantify the return on investment (ROI) financial institutions can expect from adopting MX solutions, and for translating complex data into clear, compelling narratives for executive and industry audiences.
As a senior individual contributor, this role owns full research cycles end to end — from hypothesis development and data modeling through publication and stakeholder engagement — and plays a critical role in shaping MX’s external market perspective through high-impact reports and industry publications.
Job Duties
-
Design and execute quantitative research initiatives that uncover meaningful insights at the intersection of consumer finance, financial services, and technology.
-
Develop, validate, and maintain statistical and analytical models that quantify business outcomes and ROI associated with MX products and solutions.

Identify emerging trends by analyzing large-scale internal proprietary datasets and relevant external financial, economic, and market data sources.
-
Formulate and test research hypotheses that challenge conventional assumptions about consumer engagement, financial behavior, and institutional outcomes.
-
Synthesize disparate data sources — from transaction-level data to macroeconomic indicators — into cohesive analytical frameworks and insights.
-
Lead the end-to-end creation of thought leadership content, including white papers, executive summaries, and recurring industry reports.
-
Translate complex quantitative findings into clear, executive-ready narratives that provide actionable insight for financial services leaders.
-
Partner with design and marketing stakeholders to develop effective data visualizations that communicate sophisticated analysis with clarity and impact.
-
Serve as a subject matter expert internally and externally, presenting research findings to senior leadership, clients, partners, and industry audiences.
-
Collaborate cross-functionally with analytics, product, sales, and marketing teams to ensure research aligns with business priorities and maintains analytical rigor.
-
Monitor trends across fintech, banking, and financial services to ensure research remains timely, competitive, and forward-looking.
Requirements
-
5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, data science, economic research, or a related analytical role.
-
Demonstrated experience developing and validating statistical or quantitative models using large, complex datasets.
-
Strong ability to translate technical analysis into clear written narratives for executive or industry audiences.
-
Proven experience authoring analytical reports, white papers, or research publications intended for external distribution.
-
Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail and data integrity.
