Role Summary

The Digital Production Assistant is a production role that supports the execution, publishing, and optimization of NLG’s digital content across web, email, and social platforms using assets created by copywriters and the Creative Services Team.

Reporting to the Web & Digital Experience Strategist, this individual plays a hands-on role in building and updating web pages, landing pages, and digital assets using templates, modules, and established brand styles. They will also assist with email campaign template building, social asset creation for agents through Hearsay, UTM production (and insertion) and SEO optimization of web content through keyword integration and metadata updates. This role will ensure that each build or web/email update will be tested across mobile, tablet, and desktop views to ensure consistent rendering and optimal UX.

The ideal candidate is a high-energy, detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can easily shift gears between tasks and priorities. They are comfortable working across multiple content delivery and publishing platforms and understand how to track and report their progress within a project management system. This individual communicates effectively with colleagues and leadership, knowing when to escalate issues or request support to keep deliverables on track.

Success in this role will be defined by consistency, technical accuracy, flexibility, and the seamless translation of creative ideas into well-executed, high-performing digital experiences that support NLG’s brand, compliance, and engagement goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day website updates and maintenance tasks from the webmaster/web edit request queue, ensuring all changes are accurate, compliant, and aligned with NLG’s brand standards.
  • Build and update web pages, landing pages, and microsites using approved templates and modules within CMS platforms such as Sitecore, WordPress, and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), as assigned through the project management system.
  • Support digital campaign execution by building email templates in marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp) and social assets for agent use within Hearsay Systems and other delivery platforms.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and web tools (such as SiteImprove) to monitor website performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Assist with SEO and web optimization tasks, including updating metadata, keyword tagging, and formatting; implementing SEO recommendations; and performing basic performance monitoring using approved tools and best practices.
  • Test and validate user experience (UX) for every build across mobile, tablet, and desktop resolutions, ensuring accurate rendering, functional links, and accessibility compliance.
  • Assist with analytics and tracking, supporting tagging and data validation activities within Google Tag Manager and other analytics tools under the direction of senior marketing staff.
  • Work collaboratively across the digital marketing team, maintaining accurate task documentation in the project management system, meeting deadlines, communicating proactively, and ensuring production workflows run smoothly and efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 1–3 years hands-on web production or digital content experience, ideally supporting website updates, email campaigns, and/or other digital marketing efforts within a marketing, communications, or IT environment. Experience gained through internships, student employment or co-op roles while in college will be seriously considered.
  • Demonstrated experience working within content management systems (CMS) such as Sitecore, WordPress, or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to build and format pages, populate copy, and manage web assets.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS for light formatting or troubleshooting within CMS and email templates.
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals, including metadata entry, keyword tagging, and accessibility best practices such as alt text and cross-linking.
  • Proven ability to QA layouts and functionality across devices (mobile, tablet, desktop) and browsers to ensure consistency and design integrity.
  • Comfortable working in content delivery platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, Hearsay, Sprout Social) with an ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking (understanding how platforms, content, and workflows connect) with strong curiosity and problem-solving instincts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading, and formatting accuracy, with the ability to identify and flag discrepancies or issues proactively.
  • Professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and escalate issues appropriately to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Must be a high-energy, adaptable team player who can shift gears quickly, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Work Arrangements: Hybrid

This position currently offers an onsite hybrid work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four days per week during onsite core days.  Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of web design principles and visual hierarchy, with experience working from design files (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) to ensure fidelity in spacing, typography, and layout.
  • Experience supporting multi-language or localized websites, including use of tools such as WPML or Weglot for translation management and content updates.
  • Exposure to email or mobile messaging campaign execution, including working knowledge of ESPs, CRM systems, or marketing automation tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, or Adobe platforms.
  • Familiarity with social publishing platforms, particularly Hearsay Systems and Sprout Social, for content distribution and asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS for light formatting or troubleshooting within CMS and email templates.
  • Experience conducting QA checks, analytics tagging, or Google Tag Manager (GTM) support activities under senior team guidance.
  • Prior experience working in a marketing agency or multi-stakeholder environment, balancing multiple projects or site updates simultaneously.
  • A collaborative, resourceful mindset with a strong desire to learn digital marketing systems and best practices, and grow into a broader digital production or marketing operations role.

 

Benefits

Base Pay Range.  The base pay range for this position is the range National Life reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors, including: prior experience and job-related knowledge; education, training and certificates; current business needs; and market factors.  The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.

Additional Compensation and Benefits. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs, subject to the rules governing such programs. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and National Life reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

$24 - $35 USD
