IT Support Lead

SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Site Lead to oversee and manage IT operations at our food manufacturing facility in Salt Lake. This role is responsible for setting up, maintaining, supporting, and improving the facility’s IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, and software systems. The ideal candidate will act as a key resource for the Salt Lake City facility, taking ownership of all local support and partnering with the business to ensure technology needs are met. This onsite role will be part of a larger corporate team and as such may be tasked with remotely supporting other locations & functions.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a strong self-starter, capable of working both independently and as a member of a larger team. You will ideally be comfortable working on both project work and leading support for this 24x7 facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain the facility’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems under direction from the broader IT team.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems, including servers, storage, and backup systems.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of IT hardware and software.
- Planning & deployment for all portable electronic devices such as end user computers, mobile devices, and TVs.
Support and Troubleshooting
- Provide support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Respond to and resolve IT support requests in a timely manner, minimizing disruptions to overall manufacturing operations.
- Conduct root-cause analysis to prevent recurring technical problems.
System Administration
- Partner with other teams to provide support for MES, WMS, ERP and other manufacturing technologies. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access across various platforms.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and implement security measures to safeguard company data.
Project Management
- Lead and execute IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technology needs and develop solutions that align with business goals.
- Create and maintain documentation for IT systems, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Compliance and Best Practices
- Ensure IT operations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including FDA, GMP, and food safety protocols.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in IT support, network administration, or similar roles.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in network administration and large-scale Wi-Fi deployments in a 24x7 environment.
- Experience with Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, and Office 365 administration.
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems used in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and tools including industrial control security.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
