About The Role:
A Service Desk Engineer at New Era Technology is the first point of contact for our customers, playing a crucial role in supporting our clients with their Network, Unified Communications and Security related issues. The ideal candidate will support our customers in their daily operations and resolve problems as efficiently as possible. In this role you are allowed to troubleshoot within your knowledge up to the point you are comfortable with. After that a senior engineer is engaged who assists with resolving the issue or answering the question while you shadow to learn and evolve on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical support:
- Troubleshoot and maintain wired and wireless network systems (Cisco).
- Troubleshoot and maintain Unified Communications platforms (Cisco / Audiocodes).
- Troubleshoot and maintain firewalls (Fortinet / Palo Alto).
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
Customer Support:
- Assist customers with configurations, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Document and communicate solutions.
- Communicate effectively with our clients’.
Technology Advancements:
- Stay updated on the latest developments within IT.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, gather requirements, and address concerns.
- Work closely with senior colleagues, customer IT teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support or similar technical role.
- Eager to learn about firewalls, routers, switches, access points, and other networking equipment.
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Cisco / Fortinet / Palo Alto certification is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning and development.
- Dutch and English are a must, French a plus.
