Payroll Tax Accountant Associate (External Agency - 6 Month Position)

 The Payroll Tax Accountant will be responsible for maintaining, processing and reconciling all payroll taxes in Oracle Cloud to ADP, as well as reconciling payroll to the General Ledger. Ideal candidates will have a thorough knowledge of payroll related taxes and a very good understanding of how data flows between the NFL’s payroll processing systems.

This is a temporary position, for a 6 month assignment only.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage file uploads and electronic payments of payroll taxes.
  • Review our payroll tax system data on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, performing reconciliations of data and coordinating resolutions of any discrepancies.
  • Responsible for daily monitoring of agency notices, Oracle Cloud and/or ADP issues and other tax related requests and correspondence.
  • Ensure all payroll accounting entries are complete, accurate, and recorded in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of state withholding and unemployment rates as well as tax registrations.
  • Adhere to all company and legislated confidentially and privacy regulations.
  • Designing and maintaining appropriate internal controls, systems, and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and enhancing internal control environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax laws.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines and resolve any compliance issues through research and correspondence with taxing authorities.
  • Produce periodic and annual reconciliations and analysis of ADP compared to Oracle Cloud.
  • Reconciliation of W2/W2c’s in all systems.
  • Assist with the preparation of supporting documentation in connection with the Company’s internal audits.
  • Continually identify process and system improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years relevant experience
  • ADP Smart Compliance knowledge is a must.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Payroll tax filing experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Oracle Cloud HCM

Terms /Expected Hours of Work:

  • This role is required to work 40 hours per week in the New York office.
  • This is a non-exempt position.
  • This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

Salary

$29 - $32 USD
