Project Management Associate (External Agency Staff)

The Project Management Associate plays a critical leadership role within NFL Films, overseeing the planning, budgeting, execution, and delivery of high-profile media projects. This position partners with internal creative teams, production units, post-production staff, finance, and external clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

This role requires a strategic thinker with deep production knowledge, financial acumen, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management for multiple documentary, television, and digital media productions simultaneously
  • Evaluate production concepts and creative treatments from both logistical and financial perspectives
  • Develop, manage, and continuously refine detailed, multi-million dollar production budgets across all phases (development, pre-production, production, post-production)
  • Partner with creative leadership to align financial planning with editorial vision while identifying cost efficiencies
  • Collaborate with production department on crew staffing, equipment needs, location planning, and scheduling
  • Collaborate with post-production teams to manage editorial workflows, deliverables, and timelines
  • Track and forecast project financials, proactively identifying risks, variances, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Provide regular, detailed reporting to senior leadership on budget status, projections, and project health
  • Serve as primary liaison between NFL Films and third-party clients, vendors, and partners
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, and industry standards
  • Manage project timelines, adjusting schedules dynamically to meet evolving production needs
  • Oversee project wrap processes, including cost actualization, reconciliation, and documentation
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive wrap binders and final reports for each production
  • Coordinate closely with accounting to ensure accurate expenses, revenue, and financial closure
  • Mentor junior staff or coordinators, providing guidance on budgeting and production practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Film, Television, Media Production, or related field
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in TV, film, or media production
  • At least 5+ years of experience managing budgets and overseeing multiple concurrent productions
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production budgeting tools
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to manage expectations and relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-million dollar projects under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of combined production and post-production experience
  • Experience working in documentary, sports media, or branded content environments
  • Familiarity with industry rate structures
  • Experience with production management software and financial tracking systems

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Minimum 5 x 8-hour days per week, up to 6 months contingent position with option to extend based on business needs.

Salary

$2,100 - $2,700 USD
