About The Role:

Stephen K. Denny, a Zephyr local brand is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the successes and failures of the Department and its technicians. The manager will lead technicians to maintain and repair homeowners’ systems and collaborate closely with those technicians, dispatch, and other supervisors to achieve departmental objectives and goals. This leader will drive revenue growth, control costs, ensure Department and technician performance metrics are met, create a positive & winning culture, and develop technicians, constantly striving to be a world-class operator. The Manager has an ‘owner’ mindset – he/she is ultimately in charge and must own the Department’s performance. The Manager should ensure the technicians know and perform to expectations. The Manager always aims to address problems at the lowest level, always keeping the General Manager informed and pulling him in when required. *

Key Responsibilities

  • Technician Performance: Oversee, develop, and support residential HVAC service technicians through training, performance reviews, ride-a-longs, technical guidance, and accountability to ensure quality, safety, professionalism, and revenue goals are consistently met.
  • Growing the Team: Recruit, interview, hire, and train technicians in conjunction with General Manager to meet budget
  • Office Duties: Submit and review technician payroll weekly, plan job board capacity with CSRs and Dispatchers, optimize revenue by ensuring ‘Right Tech Right Call’ scheduling, and oversee the on-call schedule for technicians.
  • System Install/Warehouse Duties: Coordinate with the Dispatcher and office staff to handle warranty and parts returns efficiently while keeping clients informed. Maintain technician truck stock through effective material control processes.Training & Development: Organize and conduct weekly technical and sales training 

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in the trades industry preferred
    • 2+ years of experience in a management role with direct reports
    • 2+ years of experience in a sales capacity
  • Licenses: 
    • Drivers License
  • Skills: 
    • Strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, management, coaching/mentoring
  • Physical Requirements: 
    • Ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and at heights
