Surveillance Lead

Northmarq is seeking a Surveillance Lead to join the Surveillance team within the Servicing department at their Minneapolis, MN (Bloomington, MN) headquarters office. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team with a wide variety of business-impact responsibilities. This role will be heavily focused on the oversight of our core Surveillance tasks to ensure workflows are being processed efficiently and effectively. This individual will also be responsible for financial statement analysis, covenant monitoring and other Surveillance tasks within the Portfolio & Asset Management Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Premier Customer Service to lenders, borrowers, servicing staff and regional offices.
  • Plan and manage your own workload to efficiently meet benchmarks within the department.
  • Appropriately communicates status updates, escalates issues, and manages timelines and action items to the Surveillance Manager.
  • Manage the receipt and import process for our property inspections and property level financials.
  • Oversee the functionality of our automated software application for overall accuracy and address any necessary failures. (Financial BOT, address any failures, line-item additions and overall accuracy).
  • Manage the financial submission process from our 3rd party vendors.
  • Facilitate the financial submission process for our collect and forward portfolios.
  • Review invoices for accuracy from our 3rd party vendors and ensure timely payment.
  • Coach and motivate staff through daily tasks and workload discussions.
  • Mentor, train, and assess the competency of staff.
  • Train staff on core Surveillance job responsibilities and serve as a resource of technical knowledge for the team.
  • Quality check team members work for accuracy prior to submission to the Lender.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders within the department.
  • Review and assess commercial property inspections to identify risk in accordance with lender requirements.
  • Analyze annual and quarterly financial statements for multifamily and commercial properties in accordance with the requirements of Life Insurance Company, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Conduit Lenders and other investors.
  • Review and process escrow disbursement requests from Borrowers.
  • Review and analyze financial covenants, trigger events, and DSCR tests.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the financial industry, banking, or real estate preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, or related field/work experience.

Demonstrated Technical and Professional Competencies:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships with team members to accomplish daily tasks and help drive team success.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving combined with sound judgment when assessing solutions and their necessary components.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Proven track record of working with internal & external partners to optimize workflow and in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Ability to make thoughtful, creative, and timely decisions after analyzing situations.
  • The ability to work closely with vendors and other internal parties to effectively problem solve.

Minnesota Residents: Northmarq carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary range for the Surveillance Lead position is $85,000.00 annually or [$40.87 per hour] to $95,000.00 annually [or $45.67 per hour]. This range is a good faith estimate and the actual compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
