About the team: 

 

The Credit Risk Squad is part of the 2nd line of Defense, responsible for managing and overseeing the credit risk function of our organization by providing independent oversight and challenge to the first line of defense. As a second line Credit Risk team, we are responsible for monitoring credit risk exposure, conducting credit risk assessment and providing guidance and support to the credit areas which execute credit decisions and manage credit risk on a day-to-day basis.  

 

About the role: 

 

  • Challenge business models to find enhancement opportunities
  • Set up a report procedure to guarantee an efficient communication regarding Mexico portfolio credit risk to enable Nubank’s sustainable growth
  • Propose and monitor KPIs in order to explain changes in Nubank credit risk portfolio
  • Review and monitor credit risk appetite
  • Share knowledge about Mexico credit market and regulations with other stakeholders
  • Understand financial metrics related to profitability/earnings and costs
  • Experience in presentations to senior management to consolidate risk messages updates
  • Review and challenge credit policies defined by first line

 

Basic qualifications:

 

  • Analytical, problem solving and passionate to manipulate data in order to learn from it
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Math, Statistics, Physics or related fields
  • Manage Credit Risk either working in the first line or second line of defense, or even implementing credit risk related projects (non-negotiable)
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk Models/Policies (Valuation/Risk-Returns), KPIs, ERM Requirements
  • Good coding skills (SQL, Python, Scala or other similar programming languages), have experience with large amount of data (non-negotiable)
  • Advanced or Fluent English (non-negotiable)
  • Adaptability to dynamic way of working/short term deliverables

 

Preferred qualifications

 

  • Knowledge in Expected Credit Loss models/PD/EAD/LGD, financial forecasting and International Standards (such as IFRS9, Basel II, Basel III)
  • Good communication skills (having the habit of presenting projects to Sr Stakeholders will be considered an advantage)
  • Great toolbox of modeling or Machine Learning technics

Our work model is hybrid and has cycles that can be from two to three months according to the business of ​​expertise. For every eight or twelve weeks of remote work, one will be at the office.
