About the role

The Global Non-Financial Risk (NFR) team is part of Nubank’s Risk Management & Compliance Tribe and is responsible for defining and governing the global framework for Operational Risk, considering Business Continuity Management (BCM), Crisis Management and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM).

As a Resilience (Operational Risk, BCM, Crisis & TPRM) Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of risk partners who support Nubank’s business and technology areas globally.

Your role is to orchestrate risk coverage at scale, ensure consistency of judgment, and elevate risk discussions to executive forums. You will act as a second-line leader, balancing risk appetite, regulatory expectations and business velocity, while ensuring Nubank remains resilient as it grows and internationalizes.

You will also be a key interface between Global NFR leadership, CROs, executive committees and regulators, translating complex operational and third-party risks into clear decision points.

You'll be responsible for

  • People Manager covering Operational Risk, BCM, Crisis Management, and TPRM, ensuring consistent judgment and high-quality risk advisory across domains and regions.

  • Oversee Operational Risk governance, challenging first-line assessments, validating control effectiveness, and ensuring alignment with risk appetite, incidents, and loss data.

  • Govern BCM and Crisis Management frameworks, ensuring scalable continuity strategies, effective crisis playbooks, regular testing, and executive-ready escalation during major events.

  • Provide second-line oversight of Third-Party Risk, ensuring risk-based due diligence, monitoring, and escalation for critical vendors, cloud providers, and strategic partners.

  • Define and monitor risk intelligence and KRIs, delivering forward-looking, data-driven insights to senior management and Risk Committees.

  • Represent Global NFR in executive and regulatory forums, supporting audits, supervisory interactions, and clear, consistent risk narratives.

  • Drive continuous improvement and scale, simplifying processes, enabling targeted friction, and strengthening Nubank’s operational resilience as the company grows globally.

We are looking for a person who has

  • Experience in Non-Financial Risk, Operational Risk, BCM, Crisis Management, Technology Risk and/or Third-Party Risk, with proven people-leadership experience managing risk partners or advisory teams.

  • Strong expertise in operational resilience, including operational risk frameworks, business continuity, crisis governance, and third-party risk management in complex, digital or cloud-based environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, apply sound risk judgment, and balance risk appetite with business growth and speed.

  • Excellent executive communication skills, capable of translating complex risk topics into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and committees.

  • Experience operating in regulated and global environments, including interaction with auditors and regulators.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Risk Management, Business, or related fields; relevant certifications (e.g., CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CISM) are a plus.

  • Advanced English (written and verbal) required; international experience is highly desirable.
