Program Manager, Waterfront Pathways

Position Overview: The Program Manager will be an integral part of the Opportunity M/W/DBE team, managing Waterfront Pathways, NYCEDC’s premier capacity building training program. The Opportunity M/W/DBE team partners with NYC city agencies and private partners to deliver on the city’s goals to award $30 Billion to minority- and women-led firm by 2026 and meet a 30% award rate. The Program Manager will utilize data, evaluation analysis, and policy development to contribute to the planning, programming, and engagement strategy that will support the promotion and advancement of MWBE firms in the offshore wind and waterfront development industries. Additionally, this role with work together with the AVP of Program Innovation & Capacity Building to support the Vice President’s overall policy and capacity building strategy and execute special projects and initiatives on an ad-hoc basis.
Responsibilities:
- Work with EDC Capital and Asset Management project managers and contractors/consultants to develop strategies to increase outreach and utilization of M/W/DBEs in waterfront construction.
- Support the operations and development of processes and standards for the Waterfront Pathways program.
- Utilize program monitoring and performance measuring tools to track the trajectory of M/W/DBE firms that have been through any of NYCEDC’s Waterfront Pathways to determine program impact and produce reports for President’s Office and Department leadership.
- Support the management of the program consultant in the delivery training and technical assistance to participating firms of the training program.
- Establish and foster relationships with M/W/DBE organizations, small business organizations, and other public agencies and represent NYCEDC at M/W/DBE related events.
- Create presentations and assist in creating marketing material for the Waterfront Pathways Program.
- Conducts policy research and analysis to prepare reports to the Mayor’s Office of M/WBE and government partners.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in advocating on behalf of MWBEs in industry support programming in developing strategies for MWBE engagement.
- Handle other ad hoc tasks that support the expansion of M/W/DBEs in various business markets in NYC.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, social sciences, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Demonstrated communication skills with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and handle competing tasks and priorities.
- Proven ability to track and monitor data for planning and reporting purposes.
- Experience in coordinating events; experience in planning and organizing outreach and training events.
- Ability to handle complexity in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Proficient in MS Office, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel; experience with database management.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed (across the five boroughs of New York City).
- Flexibility to attend evening and occasional weekend meetings.
- NYC residency is required within 180 days of hire.
Salary Range
$65,000 - $67,000 USD
