Principal Product Marketing Manager – Platform

Palo Alto, CA
Founded in 2017, Obsidian Security was created to close a critical gap: securing the SaaS applications where modern business happens—platforms like Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and hundreds more.

Backed by top investors including Greylock, Norwest Venture Partners, and IVP, we’ve built a complete SaaS security platform to reduce risk, detect and respond to threats, and prevent breaches at the source. Our team includes leaders who helped define the categories of endpoint and identity security at CrowdStrike, Okta, Cylance, and Carbon Black.

Now, we’re transforming how SaaS is secured—in the era of agentic AI.

Today, Obsidian is trusted by global enterprises like Snowflake, T-Mobile, and Pure Storage. We protect more than 200 organizations across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand—including many of the world’s largest Fortune 1000 and Global 2000 companies.

With strong global momentum, a growing partner ecosystem including SentinelOne, Databricks, and Google Cloud, and a major fundraise on the horizon, we’re scaling quickly toward long-term growth and IPO readiness. Join us as we define the future of SaaS security!

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Principal Product Marketing Manager to lead platform and SaaS security marketing, defining the strategy and storytelling that showcase how Obsidian delivers meaningful outcomes across the SaaS security lifecycle.

You’ll own the go-to-market narrative for our platform capabilities powered by Obsidian’s knowledge graph, cross-platform analytics, data moat, and our suite of capabilities that scale SaaS security to every application and user.

This is a strategic role, not a feature marketing position. You’ll turn complex architectural and data-driven innovations into clear, outcome-oriented stories that demonstrate measurable impact: detecting cross-application threats, simplifying policy enforcement, and accelerating response. Working closely with Product, Sales, and Engineering, you’ll connect technology to customer value and shape how the market adopts SaaS security at scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and own the product positioning, messaging, and value proposition of the strategic pillars of our platform.
  • Craft compelling narratives and partner with comms, content and demand gen to scale storytelling across campaigns, events, and channels.
  • Translate technical differentiation of the Obsidian SaaS and AI Defense Platform into customer-centric outcomes.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy for new capabilities and use cases, collaborating across Product, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Create compelling enablement and content such as solution briefs, launch materials, and sales tools that drive understanding and adoption.
  • Gather customer and competitive insights to sharpen positioning and identify new market opportunities.
  • Serve as a company spokesperson and expert in customer, analyst and media interactions.
  • Collaborate with growth and analytics teams to measure and optimize GTM effectiveness.

About You

  • Experienced and strategic. You bring 7+ years in product marketing or product management within cybersecurity, SaaS infrastructure, or data platforms. You’ve led messaging and go-to-market efforts for complex, technical products and know how to move from roadmap to revenue.
  • Technically fluent. You understand SaaS security concepts such as access management, privilege, governance, and behavioral analytics, and can communicate confidently about APIs, data architectures, and integration models. You don’t need to code, but you can speak the language of engineers, architects, and analysts.
  • Story-driven and outcome-oriented. You know how to turn technical innovation into business impact. You excel at building narratives that connect platform capabilities to customer value, driving clarity for executives, practitioners, and sellers alike.
  • Customer obsessed. You actively engage with customers to build messaging that reflects real-world outcomes and use cases. You thrive on learning directly from users, prospects, and partners, and you use those insights to shape positioning, launches, and campaigns.
  • Collaborative and persuasive. You work cross-functionally to drive alignment and impact, bringing together Product, Sales, and Marketing around a shared vision. You’re equally comfortable presenting to executives or partnering with the field to make strategy real.
  • Knowledgeable and forward-looking. You stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies, namely new AI solutions and agents integrating into SaaS applications. You understand the security challenges associated with these agents accessing shared accounts, requiring identity resolution between author and runner, and have good command of the opportunities they create for modern enterprises
  • Self-directed and fast-moving. You thrive in a dynamic, high-growth culture where pace matters. You know how to drive urgency with internal stakeholders, make sound decisions with limited data, and maintain momentum when the path isn’t fully defined.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
