Role

Octus's Fundamentals Analyst program offers a structured entry point into financial data and credit markets for hard working, intellectually curious, and motivated candidates. Working within the Fundamentals platform, you will spread and standardise financial statements from debt issuers into Excel-based models, build and maintain capital structures, calculate credit metrics, and ensure data quality and consistency across our coverage universe. You will develop a solid grounding in financial statement analysis, accounting, capital structure mechanics, and credit metrics through hands-on, detail-oriented work. You will contribute to a collaborative and action-oriented team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse financial reporting documents including earnings reports and presentations, offering memorandums, lender presentations, credit agreements and other
  • Prepare detailed financial models including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Capital Structure, Relative Performance metrics and Ratio Analysis.
  • Build and maintain a coverage universe of financial models that are updated quarterly or monthly and for key events
  • Leverage AI tools to improve workflow efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and support problem solving in day-to-day analytical work
  • Participate in ad hoc projects to improve the quality of the data set and our data products

Requirements 

  • Graduates with degrees in economics, accounting or finance 
  • An ability to interpret financial statements to evaluate business performance and understand the relationship between business drivers and financial performance, including the ability to model out these relationships quantitatively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the tenacity to resolve complex issues
  • Strong interest in credit market or financial markets in general
  • Desire to learn and apply your newly acquired skills to grow professionally and personally

The salary range estimate for this position is 2,800 - 3,000 EUR monthly. The actual compensation will be at Octus’ sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an additional annual discretionary bonus.
