About the Role  

Our Senior Account Managers bring value to our clients by analyzing, solving and presenting viable integrated solutions to client problems. They identify and inspire new work streams and solutions that lead to client growth by collaborating with and drawing on the expertise of the Ogilvy’s vast resources and capabilities.  They are valued advisors and partners to senior communications professionals and directors, as well as agency leaders at similar levels. They identify and champion great creative work that creates influence, and understand the importance of flawless delivery. They are also exceptional leaders of teams who inspire others to act courageously.   

What You’ll Do 

PROFESSIONAL & TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION 

 

  • Managing a client’s business or portfolio of integrated accounts with a target of $1m in revenue 
  • Partnering with Ogilvy’s capability experts to deliver integrated solutions, identify new business opportunities, scope of work and revenue  
  • Immersing yourself in the essential dynamics, strategies, and drivers of your client’s business  
  • Foreseeing opportunities and formulating plans to manage and exploit them to drive/extend the business  
  • Putting clients first, interfacing regularly with all client levels and constantly hunting for solutions and big ideas that are innovative and relevant 
  • Demonstrating strong collaboration skills with internal teams, using Agency resources to effectively and seamlessly support client’s business 
  • Building strong, collaborative and trusted relationships with creative and strategic partners 
  • Effectively navigating teams when there are conflicting priorities  
  • Coaching, involving and inspiring the growth and development of junior Agency staff via providing consistent feedback, training and growth opportunities  
  • Acting as an open and willing resource to team members in assessing ideas and directions, and providing guidance to push further 
  • Monitoring and communicating POV on current communications trends and industry issues   
  • Demonstrating responsibility and accountability for overall agency performance and flawless delivery 
  • Direct development of broad range of materials developed by the account team including client memos, press releases, speeches, features, and other formats of content and articles 
  • Efficiently and effectively plan and manage large scale events - Develop and guide media relations strategy   
  • Cultivates relationships with senior leaders and key players within Ogilvy and across business units within compass point and taps them as appropriate to provide perspective and add value 
  • Accountable for final review of all communications, reports and client materials developed by account team

What You’ll Need  

  • 6 – 8 years of experience, including 2 – 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably agency side. 
  • Strong experience in corporate communications 
  • Strong local media relations
  • Strong writing skills
  • Digitally fluent, with an understanding of the complex, fragmented media landscape and how to bring together cohesive programs and drive results for clients  
  • An appreciation for how great work gets done and a commitment to ensuring creative excellence/output 
  • Strong communication skills, particularly with presentations
  • Insatiably curious, a lifelong learner  
  • Authentically passionate about great work, your team and our business  
  • Diplomatic and Empathetic leadership 
  • Ability to lead on the development of comprehensive communications plans and strategies
  • Ability to lead on new business proposals development and submission 
  • Solid understanding of the commercial aspect of submissions and build sound financial proposals for new business and projects. 
  • A good listener, someone who reads people and those in a room well (and adapts their style and response accordingly)
  • Strong experience in managing issues and crisis 
  • Strong experience in stakeholder mapping and engagement programs 
  • Strong experience in executive visibility programs, thought leadership and executive profiling
