Social Media Director - 4 month FTC - part-time

This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape and lead social media strategy and execution for a global domestic appliances brand, spanning categories including air fryers, vacuum cleaners, and coffee machines. 

Based within a newly established global inhouse studio in Amsterdam, this role sits at the heart of the brand’s digital transformation. The studio operates with the speed and creative ambition of an agency, combined with the strategic depth and scale of an inhouse team, delivering socialfirst strategy, content, and influencer activity across global and local markets. 

As Social Media Director, you will define how the brand shows up across platforms, creators, and communities worldwide - setting the vision, building highperforming teams, and ensuring social delivers meaningful brand and business impact. You will be a key driver of socialfirst thinking, innovation, and the integration of Generative AI across strategy, content, and operations. 

ABOUT YOU 

We’re looking for a highly accomplished, digitally fluent social media and influencer leader with 10+ years’ experience, ideally gained within agency or hybrid inhouse environments. 

You are a strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset, proven experience managing complex global stakeholders, and a passion for the power of social media and influencer marketing to drive growth. You bring a deep understanding of platform dynamics, evolving social behaviours, creator ecosystems, and emerging technologies (particularly Generative AI) and know how to translate these insights into scalable, impactful solutions. 

You are an inspiring, collaborative leader, comfortable managing and mentoring large, multidisciplinary teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and building modern ways of working. You are datadriven, creatively ambitious, and deeply attuned to what makes brands and consumers connect in today’s fastmoving digital landscape. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Leadership & Team Management 

  • Lead, coach, and inspire social and influencer teams to deliver bestinclass, socialfirst work 
  • Provide line management to senior social and influencer leads, partnering closely with Creative, Strategy, Production, and Performance leadership 
  • Build a strong, futureready social capability within the studio, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence 
  • Act as the senior social point of contact for client stakeholders, guiding vision and decisionmaking 
  • Drive yearonyear growth against agreed KPIs, managing complex stakeholder relationships effectively 

Strategy & Client Partnership 

  • Own the global social vision for the brand, enabling local relevance at scale 
  • Oversee the development of comprehensive social and influencer strategies, informed by insight, performance data, and AIpowered analytics 
  • Provide seniorlevel social consultancy to client leadership, producing clear strategy frameworks and playbooks 
  • Build trusted, longterm client relationships and proactively respond to evolving business needs 
  • Contribute to the development of innovative proposals and new opportunities within the account 

Operational Excellence & Innovation 

  • Establish and embed best practices, processes, and ways of working that drive operational efficiency and creative quality 
  • Ensure teams maintain deep platform expertise and socialfirst thinking across all work 
  • Direct social and influencer output across global and regional markets 
  • Champion measurement, effectiveness, and performanceled optimisation 
  • Educate stakeholders on the role of social in building brands and driving measurable outcomes 

Innovation & Technology 

  • Lead the integration of Generative AI into social and influencer strategy, content creation, and operations 
  • Stay at the forefront of social platform innovation, creator trends, and emerging technologies 
  • Drive experimentation and innovation at the intersection of human creativity and AI 
  • Scale GenAI tools and proprietary technology responsibly across the studio 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS 

  • Strategic Vision & Commercial Acumen: 
    10+ years’ experience in social media marketing with a strong track record of delivering effective, commercially successful strategies 
  • Leadership & Operational Excellence: 
    Proven experience leading and developing teams within fastpaced, highperformance environments 
  • Client Relationship Management: 
    Exceptional ability to influence, negotiate, and manage senior stakeholders across global or large regional organisations 
  • Influencer Marketing Expertise: 
    Understanding of the influencer landscape, including talent selection, relationship management, contracting, content production, data analysis, and strategy 
  • Innovation & AI Understanding: 
    Strong grasp of social platform evolution, emerging trends, and a genuine interest in AI and generative technologies 
  • Creative Excellence: 
    Highly creative, with a sharp instinct for socialnative storytelling and effective brand collaborations 
  • Paid Social Knowledge: 
    Solid understanding of the role of paid media in amplifying social and influencer activity 
  • Communication Skills: 
    Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; fluent in English (additional EU languages a plus) 
  • DataDriven Approach: 
    Experience using performance data and insights to inform strategy, optimisation, and decisionmaking
