Role Description
The Buyer – Auxiliary Power & Electrical Systems is responsible for sourcing and procuring auxiliary power equipment and LV electrical systems for BESS projects, working closely with electrical, control, and power electronics teams. This role is execution-focused, emphasizing disciplined delivery against project schedules and specifications. Category strategy and long-term supplier positioning are led by Sourcing / Category Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement for BESS projects, auxiliary systems. Manage RFQs/RFPs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, integrators.
- Coordinate with engineering to align procurement with technical specifications.
- Support project cost estimates and budgets during development and execution phases.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and supply chain risks.
- Track market trends in battery technology, pricing, and supplier landscape.
- Ensure compliance with ON.energy’s procurement policies and project requirements.
- Proactively manage delivery schedules, expediting, changes, and recovery plans.
Key Skills & Competencies
- 2–3 years of experience in procurement or sourcing roles.
- Hands-on experience sourcing auxiliary power or low-voltage (LV) electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with UPS systems, DC systems, and backup power architectures.
- Ability to read and work with electrical schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
- Strong coordination, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP / procurement tools.
- Working knowledge of IEC and UL standards for auxiliary power systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Supply Chain, or Business.
