WHAT YOU WILL DO
onX is seeking a Product Manager who is passionate about creating solutions that serve our Offroad customers. The Product Manager will lead a dedicated development team in executing a 6-12 month roadmap focused on delivering impactful product enhancements. Reporting to the Head of Offroad Product, who is responsible for the long-term vision and strategy of the Offroad product, you will collaborate closely to ensure short-term execution aligns with the broader product direction.
The role requires a data-driven understanding of the customer and business, considering multiple inputs to determine product-market fit and prioritization. Driven to lead in the market, this role ensures our product meets the needs of our customers by monitoring product performance quantitatively and qualitatively and conducting continuous discovery to ensure we stay close to our customers.
Product Managers at onX lead a cross-functional team and work with other product managers, engineering, QA, data & analytics, content, product design, product marketing, brand, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and product success. An ability to lead through influence is paramount to success. You will work with engineering, design, and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize features, refine requirements, and ensure successful execution. This position requires a strong tactical mindset, ownership of team delivery, and the ability to translate strategy into action.
The ideal candidate will have a strong customer orientation, ability to develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer use cases with a focus on experimentation and usage data to drive decisions and prioritization. onX Offroad is a high-growth and ever-evolving business, requiring product managers to be adaptable, persistent, and positive.
As an onX Product Manager, your essential job duties and responsibilities will look like:
- Be a vocal advocate for Offroad customers by establishing, maintaining, and delivering a prioritized, detailed delivery roadmap for specific features that matter most to this audience
- Lead a cross-functional scrum team (engineering, QA, design) responsible for executing the onX Offroad near-term roadmap, ensuring alignment with the broader strategy and vision.
- Collaborate closely to prepare roadmap items for development. This includes drafting requirements, defining scope, success criteria, aligning team members, and ensuring measurements are available at launch.
- Know and understand product development processes, working closely with the team to improve velocity and drive incremental progress on a daily basis.
- Employ an experimentation approach to test and measure the performance of new tactics and strategies.
- Continually strive to improve the customer experience, with a focus on product quality, reliability, and performance.
- Manage and communicate the roadmap across the product organization and company, ensuring alignment with engineering, product design, geospatial content, marketing, sales, and customer success teams.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
- Experience: We recognize that product leadership expertise can be cultivated from a variety of professional backgrounds. We are looking for at least five (5) years of relevant experience with at least two (2) of those in product management for a consumer software company.
- Proven ability to define and execute a near-term roadmap while driving iterative product improvements.
- Knowledge and experience with agile product development processes.
- Strong skills in writing user stories, managing backlogs, and defining acceptance criteria.
- Ability to analyze data, customer insights, and market trends to inform decisions.
- High tolerance for growth, change, and experimentation. Comfortable making trade-offs and prioritization decisions under ambiguity.
- Self-starter with the ability to find solutions for unstructured problems.
- Collaborative, well organized and efficient, and has a strong bias for action.
- Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills.
- Experience or a strong interest in the offroad and/or overland industry.

- Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX.
- Must be available for travel to a corporate office in Montana or industry events quarterly.

WHERE YOU CAN WORK
onX has created a thriving distributed workforce community across several US locations. This position can be performed from an onX corporate office, “Basecamp,” or “Connection Hub”.
- Corporate Offices: onX was founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you prefer to work in an office at least part of the time, this is a great option.
- Basecamps: onX’s Basecamps are established virtual workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team members group for work, volunteering, socializing, and adventure.
- Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the following: Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.
- Connection Hubs: onX’s Connection Hub locations are smaller, emerging communities of distributed team members.
- Our current Connection Hubs are located within a 60-mile radius of the following: Boise, ID; Charleston, SC; Charlotte, NC; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Richmond, VA; Spokane, WA; and Vermont.
HOW YOU’LL BE COMPENSATED
onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $117,000 to $138,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
