Senior Project Manager – Mechanical (Union-Based)

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage our team of Project Managers. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of project management experience, with 3-5+ years of experience leading people. PMP certification is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Execution
· Provide direct oversight of all awarded projects, ensuring they are completed within the scope, budget and schedule.
· Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and timelines to meet client and company objectives.
· Coordinate pre-construction planning, project scope development, and contract negotiations.
· Identify potential project risks, troubleshoot challenges, and provide strategic solutions.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and contractual obligations.
Budgeting, Cost Control & Resource Allocation
· Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
· Track costs, labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
· Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or safety.
· Forecast financial impacts and proactively adjust project plans to maintain profitability.
Team Leadership & Union Labor Coordination
· Coach, train, and mentor project managers ensuring they have the required training and resources to manage their individual projects.
· Lead and direct union workforce, ensuring productivity and adherence to labor agreements.
· Maintain strong relationships with trade unions, vendors, and suppliers.
· Ensure all labor activities comply with union regulations and company policies.
Stakeholder Communication & Client Relations
· Serve as the primary point of contact for larger accounts.
· Maintain regular communication and reporting with senior management, ensuring alignment with company goals.
· Conduct client meetings, progress reports, and site visits to assess project status and address concerns.
· Provide oversight on all contracts, change orders, and project scope modifications.
Technical & Compliance Expertise
· Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal mechanical construction codes.
· Oversee permitting, licensing, and inspection processes to meet regulatory requirements.
· Utilize project management software and construction technology to improve efficiency and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
✔ 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager, with 3-5+ years of experience leading people. PMP certification is a plus.
✔ Proven experience in managing large-scale projects. ✔ Strong expertise in budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contract administration.
✔ Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office
Suite.
✔ Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
✔ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
