Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Vice President of Construction to lead our onsite construction operations. This key leadership role demands a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, coupled with strong project management and estimating skills. The ideal candidate will oversee field operations, ensure project delivery, manage WIP, and uphold safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all onsite construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Oversee WIP, including tracking, reporting, and forecasting project financials and progress.
- Coordinate with pre-construction, estimating, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Review and understand estimating logic to ensure accurate project budgeting and cost control.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and procurement strategies.
- Lead and mentor project managers and onsite personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Contribute to business growth by identifying new project opportunities and supporting bid/pipeline activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior construction management role within the HVAC, plumbing, or electrical industries, preferably from a general contracting background.
- Strong understanding of WIP management and project financials.
- Extensive knowledge of estimating processes and logic.
- Demonstrated success managing projects ranging from $100K to $2M, with high-end project experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively onsite in a hands-on leadership capacity.
- Relevant industry certifications and licenses are a plus.
- Strong project management background with a focus on HVAC or Mechanical Contracting.
- Experienced in high-end project delivery with attention to detail and quality.
