Sr. Electrical Engineer, Embedded Hardware - SuperNatural Vision (SNV)
About Otto Aerospace
OTTO is developing the world’s first fifth-generation business jet, designed for sustainability through the innovative use of advanced super-laminar aerodynamics and high-precision, net-shaped composites. Flight tests of our technology demonstrator validate a dramatic reduction in fuel burn and allow a sizeable improvement in cabin comfort. Otto Aerospace is designing world-class aircraft from first principles physics and delivering ground-breaking aircraft and economic performance.
About the Role
As Sr. Electrical Engineer, Embedded Hardware at Otto Aerospace, you will lead the architecture, development, and integration of advanced embedded compute systems for the SuperNatural Vision Infotainment System. You will own top-level system features, requirements, and specifications for embedded hardware and firmware, guide vendor and technology partner engagements, and drive end-to-end engineering activities across design, implementation, and verification. You will also define and manage system interfaces between SNV components and aircraft systems, including avionics and the Cabin Management System. This role requires deep expertise in embedded compute platforms and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, user-facing embedded products into production.
The SuperNatural Vision (SNV) team at Otto Aerospace is dedicated to developing cutting-edge cabin interior systems that enhance the in-flight experience for passengers. Our team is responsible for the design, development, and integration of the SuperNatural Vision Infotainment System, including all hardware, software, and AI/ML engineering.
What You'll Do
- Own and manage top-level embedded system features, requirements, and specifications for integration within the SNV platform.
- Define, track, and maintain hardware and firmware requirements for embedded compute modules, microcontrollers, sensors, and peripheral interfaces.
- Lead technical engagement with component vendors and technology partners, including evaluation of embedded processors, boards, and subsystem solutions.
- Capture and manage system-level requirements across power management, real-time performance, data I/O, communication protocols, reliability, and thermal constraints.
- Support and drive aviation certification activities related to embedded hardware, firmware, and safety-critical systems.
- Lead engineering development, design reviews, and validation efforts for embedded hardware, low-level firmware, and system integration.
- Define and manage interface specifications between embedded compute systems, SNV subsystems, avionics buses, and cabin management systems.
