ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be the “face of our clinic”, serving as the first person our patients would interact with upon entering our clinic. You will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and safe environment at Overstory Health. Your daily duties will include handling inbound/outbound calls, preparing insurance claims, handling the mail/faxes, scheduling appointments, etc. Your compassionate communication and strong customer service will ensure a great experience for those seeking care during critical times. QUALIFICATIONS
- Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- W2 position, full-time with availability for up to 40 hours per week
- Lives in the Boston metropolitan area
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of (1) year of experience as an office receptionist in a medical clinic, hospital, or similar healthcare environment and/or (3) years of comparable front office experience in a non-healthcare environment
- Experience working with medical professionals preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced clinic environment
- Confidence and/or interest working with a diverse patient population
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications or willing to learn new technology quickly (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Electronic Health Record, etc.)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and assist patients and visitors: Provide a warm and professional welcome, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they walk in
- Manage front desk operations: Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct messages to the appropriate staff members
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars: Coordinate patient schedules, confirm appointments, and handle rescheduling as needed
- Handle patient check-in and check-out: Verify information (demographic, insurance, etc.), process forms, and ensure accurate documentation for billing and records
- Support administrative tasks: Manage incoming mail, maintain office supplies, and assist with clerical duties to support smooth operations
