PR and Communications Specialist
What to expect
In this role as PR & Communications Specialist at Ozow, you will be responsible for creating compelling, on-brand content across multiple channels and formats to engage our audiences and support marketing initiatives. You will also be responsible for growing and expanding Ozow’s brand throughout the media and across organic platforms of brand awareness. Your creative and tactical focus ensures all public-facing outlets share a consistent voice, tone, and commitment to quality contribution. You will report to the Head of Marketing and you will work cross-functionally and collaborate across teams and departments.
Responsibilities
- Defining, developing, and overseeing end-to-end execution of PR strategy and programmes to drive awareness for Ozow. Working cross-functionally to plan and execute PR campaigns.
- Managing complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism.
- Developing and strengthening relationships with key media contacts.
- Ensuring factually accurate representation of an expanding portfolio of Ozow products and services in the technology press.
- Managing sensitive reputational issues with internal stakeholders and member of the media.
- Protecting sensitive competitive, technical, business confidential information.
- Regularly interacting with senior leadership to influence strategy and negotiate decisions in relation to service issues, announcements, and messaging.
- Develop clear, persuasive, and on-brand copy for a variety of channels including websites, emails, digital ads, video scripts, sales collateral, and more
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver brilliant content that meets project objectives
- Ensure all messaging aligns with brand tone, voice, and style guidelines
- Research product and industry topics to gain deep understanding and craft authoritative content
- Adapt writing style for different formats and audiences across B2B and B2C
- Incorporate SEO best practices and keyword research into content strategy
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of PR experience.
- Minimum 3 year copywriting experience.
- A degree in Communications, and or relevant qualification.
- A deep understanding of technology, and ability to communicate complex topics effectively.
- Have an extensive network of media contacts.
- Track record of successfully representing high-profile enterprise Information Technology products, with enterprise software and/or database experience desirable.
- Strong judgment and the ability to respond quickly, yet thoughtfully, to urgent PR matters.
