About Position
As a Risk Technical Product Manager, you join Paidy’s Risk department to support its mission of leveraging credit management for healthy and sustainable business growth. Your role will entail close collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and various departments to identify business growth opportunities and develop initiatives to realize them. You'll play a pivotal role throughout the entire lifecycle of these initiatives, from designing solutions to defining requirements, assessing quality pre-launch, and optimizing performance post-launch. The interdisciplinary teams you'll work with will be responsible for:
● Enhancing our consumers' flexibility by the creation of a top-notch user experience for seamless cash flow management.
● Utilizing advanced statistical models to develop and refine credit underwriting policies, powering a payment system focused on delivering a seamless user experience and effective cash flow management.
● Continuously improving our fraud monitoring and prevention tools to safeguard our customers and products.
● Collaborating with diverse teams within Paidy to evaluate the creditworthiness of customers acquired through various channels.

Key Role and Responsibilities
As a Risk Technical Product Manager at Paidy, you will have a dynamic role that involves collaborating with various teams and driving the development of the implementation of different business growth initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass:
● Drive Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact between key executives/stakeholders and various core executional teams (Engineers, UX designers, Data scientists, etc.). Foster effective communication and collaboration to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities.
● Define Requirements: Clearly define and finalize technical and product requirements, working closely with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback. Synthesize user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with Engineers, UX designers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding among development teams and QA.
● Oversee Project Planning: Collaborate with core executional teams to evaluate available resources, define project scopes, and establish development phases necessary for iterative delivery of business value.
● Manage Delivery and Implementation: Track and manage the development plan, identifying and mitigating potential risks related to development, deployment, security, and integration. Work closely with relevant teams to address any issues that may arise during the development process, ensuring smooth implementation and adherence to project timelines.
● Assess Deliverables' Quality: Define acceptance criteria and review engineering and QA test plans to ensure product technical readiness for launch. Collaborate with teams to address any quality issues and ensure that deliverables meet established standards and requirements.
● Participating in Go-to-Market Strategy: Work closely with cross-functional teams including UX, Marketing, PR, Sales, and Engineering to support launch plans and ensure successful market entry of new features/products.
● Be a Subject Matter Expert: Continuously review product performance metrics, collaborating with key stakeholders to optimize features/products for improved business performance and customer satisfaction.
Skills and Requirements
Required Skills:
● Excellent English Technical Writing: Proficiency in articulating product ideas in simple terms while producing detailed and unambiguous technical specifications understandable to diverse audiences.
● Business Level Japanese: Proficiency in speaking and writing Japanese at a business level to effectively communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders, customers, or team members.
● Strong Presentation Abilities: Ability to deliver clear and concise presentations tailored to various stakeholders, including engineers, data analysts, and C-level executives, to garner support for product ideas.
● Incremental Product Development: Skill in breaking down products into sets of features deliverable incrementally, facilitating agile development and iterative improvements.
● Understanding of Software Development Methodologies: Proficient knowledge of different software development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, including their respective tradeoffs and applications.
● Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence: Familiarity with JIRA for roadmap management, ticket creation, and tracking, as well as Confluence for organizing documentation, flowcharts, and collaborative workspaces.
● Project Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring, to ensure timely and successful delivery of initiatives.
● Sense of Urgency: Ability to act with a sense of urgency when necessary to meet project deadlines and address critical issues promptly.
● Good Judgment: Capacity to manage ambiguity and exercise good judgment in decision-making, prioritization, and problem-solving situations.
● Effective Feedback Exchange: Skill in giving and receiving constructive feedback tactfully, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment both upstream and downstream in the product development process.
