Purpose of Position:

 

Pantheon is undergoing a multi-year program to build a new best-in-class Data Warehouse using cloud-native technologies hosted in Azure. This role is integral to the success of this program and establishing Pantheon as a data-centric organization. You will work with the Azure tech stack alongside existing ETL pipelines built with SAP Business Objects Data Services. Proven experience in testing ingestion and transformation of data from various internal and external systems is essential. The Senior Data QA Engineer will be a key member of the data team, working closely with peers to ensure solutions are delivered efficiently and to the highest quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan, design, and execute testing activities for new features and changes to existing systems.
  • Create and execute test cases, both manual and automated, to verify functional and non-functional requirements at various development stages.
  • Advocate for test automation and deliver working CI/CD solutions.
  • Identify and verify critical bugs, determining their underlying causes and ensuring resolution through collaboration with other teams.
  • Produce clear and concise bug reports evidencing solution functionality.
  • Communicate status information and issues to stakeholders, adapting communication based on the audience.

 

Knowledge and Experience Required:

 

  • Extensive experience in testing software systems and Data Warehouses.
  • Ability to create, adapt, and execute effective test strategies.
  • Creative problem-solving and innovation skills.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Advanced SQL skills with a solid understanding of database structures.
  • Experience testing data and storage services in Azure (Azure SQL Database, Data Lake, Data Storage).
  • Extensive experience in testing BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and data models.
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies, including BDD and TDD.
  • Proficiency in different test automation tools and technology.
  • Solid understanding of the testing pyramid and experience implementing it at various levels.
  • Experience working in a continuous integration and delivery environment.
  • Hands-on experience with the Azure Data Integration toolset.
  • Working knowledge of product/defect/test case management systems.
  • Attention to detail and a thorough approach to testing.

 

Essential Technical Skills:

 

  • Advanced SQL
  • Automated Test Framework design and build using SQL, Python
  • Azure Databricks, SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory
  • Traditional ETL tools (SAP Business Objects Data Services, INFORMATICA, SSIS, etc.)
  • Azure DevOps, Git, Pipelines

 

Desired Technical Skills:

 

  • Business Objects
  • Crystal Reports
  • Power BI

 

Experience in financial services, particularly in private equity, infrastructure & real assets, or private debt, is ideal but not required.
