IPM Technician

The IPM Technician will work hands-on to monitor the crops and ensure accurate reports of the crops health and wellness are relayed to management; as well as implement IPM strategies designated by the IPM Supervisor.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Scouting and monitoring of pests, diseases, environmental pressures, beneficial insects, overall trends and generating reports of findings.
- Maintain and monitor traps to provide feedback on pest counts to the IPM manager.
- Coordinating with IPM leads and managers on all mechanical, cultural, biological, and chemical programs; and then execute them.
- Implementing IPM programs and then monitoring efficacy of products used for control measures.
- Plant maintenance as deemed necessary.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU’LL BRING
Required
- Age 21 or over
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Government-Issued Photo ID
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized and a self-starter
- Must be self-motivated, honest, trustworthy, and always act in a mature and profession
Preferred
- 6 months related work experience.
- Strong interest in agriculture/horticulture and willing to work in adverse conditions.
- Knowledge of horticultural pests and diseases is a plus, on the job training will be
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to get respirator fit test certified by a medical professional and perform pesticide application
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Hand and eye coordination with extreme attention to detail
- Exposure to greenhouse environments that exceed temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit
- Must be able to stand squat and kneel for long periods of time in small spaces that can be high in heat, high in humidity, wet or dry.
- Ability to climb up and down a ladder frequently
Exposure to bright light where eye protection is required - Exposure to cannabis odor
- Exposure to water during the duration of the shift is common with growing environments
