Role Summary

Role: Catia V6 CAD Specialist (Contract)
Location: Fremont, CA
Duration: 3-6 months, starting as soon as possible
Department: Hardware Engineering (EE)

As a Catia V6 CAD Specialist, you will work closely with our Electrical & Mechanical Engineering teams to design vehicle harness layouts, ensuring seamless integration with vehicle chassis. Your expertise will optimize designs for manufacturing and compliance. Additionally, you will focus on the mechanical design and integration of electronic devices, sensors, and actuators, incorporating expertise in Electronics Packaging to ensure robust and efficient product design. You will produce design and assembly documentation such as piece part drawings, 2D and 3D models, and assembly documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design vehicle harness layouts using Catia V6.
  • Collaborate with chassis engineers for optimal integration.
  • Implement design for mechanical supports (clamps, brackets, etc.).
  • Ensure efficient cable routing, bundling, and packaging of electronics.
  • Conduct chassis design activities and optimize for electronics packaging requirements.
  • Build and maintain a CATIA components library.
  • Generate process and assembly documentation and provide support for production.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience minimum.
  • Experience with Catia V6 required, including electrical assembly workbench.
  • Proficiency in designing mechanical supports and electronics packaging.
  • Knowledge of cable routing optimization and harness design.
  • Collaborative design and compliance skills.
  • Experience with automotive design, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Familiarity with Product Line Management (PLM) systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Electronics Packaging, including thermal and mechanical considerations for electronic components.

Hourly Rate

$60 - $80 USD
