Position Summary

The Head of Market Services Product Management is accountable for the strategy, performance, and commercial health of the Market Services product portfolio. This includes P&L ownership, roadmap prioritization, product governance, product team leadership, and the disciplined use of AI to improve speed, quality, and operating leverage. This leader manages and develops the Product team, sets clear ownership expectations, connects product decisions to revenue, margin, client demand, and delivery capacity, and partners closely with Sales, Sales Engineering, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and leadership. The role will drive the continued evolution of Pico's Market Services portfolio, helping scale the business through productization, commercial rigor, and client-focused innovation while maintaining the technical credibility required in capital markets infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Market Services product portfolio end-to-end, including product strategy, roadmap development, prioritization, lifecycle governance, and alignment to business objectives.
  • Drive portfolio growth through market analysis, client engagement, competitive intelligence, and disciplined investment prioritization.
  • Own portfolio P&L performance and connect product decisions to revenue growth, profitability, pricing strategy, client retention, operating efficiency, and market demand.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Product team, establishing clear ownership, accountability, and performance expectations.
  • Meet regularly with clients and prospects to understand business priorities, market trends, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Sales Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and Finance to ensure products remain scalable, profitable, supportable, and aligned with customer demand.
  • Support sales enablement through product positioning, customer-facing communication, industry engagement, and go-to-market activities.
  • Ensure product decisions appropriately balance customer needs, commercial opportunity, operational capacity, and technical feasibility.
  • Use approved AI tools to improve product analysis, reporting, customer preparation, roadmap planning, and decision support while maintaining appropriate governance and accountability.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of product management or product leadership experience in financial services technology, capital markets infrastructure, market data, connectivity, hosting, managed services, telecommunications, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a product portfolio, product business, or P&L with responsibility for growth, profitability, and investment decisions.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing Product Managers and product teams.
  • Deep understanding of capital markets infrastructure and the technology ecosystem supporting buy-side firms, sell-side firms, exchanges, market makers, and other financial institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of market connectivity, exchange connectivity, managed infrastructure, hosting, market data, trading infrastructure, or related services.
  • Proven ability to translate customer needs, market opportunities, and business priorities into commercially successful products and services.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and strategic decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively across technical, commercial, operational, and customer-facing organizations.
  • Practical AI fluency, including responsible use of approved AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and business outcomes.

AI Fluency Requirement

AI fluency is a core requirement for this role. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to leverage approved AI technologies to accelerate analysis, portfolio reporting, customer preparation, product communication, and decision-making while ensuring data protection, source validation, and accountability for final outcomes.

Example: Use AI to synthesize customer feedback, sales insights, operational constraints, and KPI trends into clear product recommendations, roadmap priorities, and executive-level communications.

 

Working Arrangements

This is a Hybrid position with [weekly time in the office with the flexibility of working from home. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions/geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC).

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and relevant certification. 

New York Pay range

$180,000 - $200,000 USD
