Our extensive learning programs and mentorship opportunities help us create a culture of curiosity that pushes us to always find new solutions and better ways of doing things. If you have a good attitude and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done, PitchBook is the place for you.

About the Role:

As a member of the Product and Engineering team at PitchBook, you will be part of a team of big thinkers, innovators, and problem solvers who strive to deepen the positive impact we have on our customers and our company every day. We value curiosity and the drive to find better ways of doing things. We thrive on customer empathy, which remains our focus when creating excellent customer experiences through product innovation.

We know that greatness is achieved through collaboration and diverse points of view, so we work closely with partners around the globe. As a team, we assume positive intent in each other’s words and actions, value constructive discussions, and foster a respectful working environment built on integrity, growth, and business value. We invest heavily in our people, who are eager to learn and constantly improve. Join our team and grow with us!

PitchBook is looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking technology leader to join our team as Vice President of Engineering, overseeing Product Development. Reporting to our EVP, Technology & Engineering, you’ll lead a global organization of more than 200 engineers who design, build, and scale the PitchBook Platform — the technology that powers how thousands of investors, advisors, and dealmakers discover opportunities and make confident decisions across private and public markets.

This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution. You’ll shape our engineering vision, strengthen our platform architecture, and continue building a world-class team and culture. If you’re passionate about scaling technology, developing people, and building products that make a real impact — this role is for you.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture built on trust, accountability, and continuous learning
  • Build clear career paths and leadership frameworks to help engineers and managers reach their potential

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain a high bar for software quality, delivery speed, and platform reliability

  • Use data and metrics to guide decisions and continuously improve how we build and deliver software

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Product Management and Design leaders to deliver scalable, customer-focused solutions
  • Work with senior leaders across the business to ensure technology investments align with company goals and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Synergize with Software Architecture, Technology Operations, and AI/ML teams to incorporate advanced technologies and methodologies into a highly performant and efficient set of products
  • Model PitchBook’s leadership principles — integrity, accountability, and collaboration — in everything you do

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with 7+ years leading large, distributed engineering organizations
  • Proven track record of delivering and scaling complex SaaS or data/analytics platforms with a focus on performance, security, and reliability
  • Deep technical expertise in modern software development, including microservices, cloud-native architectures, DevOps, and continuous delivery
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational transformation — modernizing architectures, scaling systems, and evolving engineering culture
  • Recognized for building high-trust, high-performance teams that combine technical excellence with strong collaboration and ownership
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to inspire and influence both technical and business audiences
  • Experience in financial data, analytics, or capital markets technology is strongly preferred

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
