About the Role:
Planet is currently seeking an Inventory Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining physical as well as systematic inventory accuracy at any given time. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, motivated, driven individual with a proven experience in managing conflicting priorities and tasks.
You will also work in concert with operations, manufacturing and supplier quality teams. These teams will rely on your capability to pinpoint at what we have, where do we have it and how many do we have of the critical components used to build spacecraft and systems surrounding them.
This role requires a full-time on-site presence in our San Francisco HQ.
Impact You'll Own:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems.
- Implement and manage processes to cycle count parts and improve inventory accuracy.
- Lead periodic inventory cycle counts on hardware, passives and IC parts using automated equipment.
- Coordinate and process incoming and outgoing shipments, including receiving and logging products.
- Responsible for timely and accurate transaction of goods in the Inventory system.
- Assist in kitting parts for production or NPI builds.
- Work with Supply Planners to resolve issues related to inventory quality, damages, or discrepancies.
- Ability to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
What You Bring:
- Bachelors or Associate degree or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
- Data analytical and proficient in Inventory management techniques, Microsoft Excel or Google sheets.
- Proven experience of cycle counting and Physical inventory Audits will be critical to hire.
- Excellent time management skills & communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work well, independently, with others and experience meeting deadlines
- Remarkable problem solving skills
- Must be a U.S. Person
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience with Excel/Sheets.
- General understanding of Electrical and Electronic components including PCBs/PCBAs
- Functional knowledge of ERP and WMS systems.
- Experience with Jira Workflow software.
- Understanding of Procure to pay cycle, structured BOMs (Bill of Materials) and basic supply-demand planning knowledge.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning technology and automated inventory tracking systems.
- Experience with International shipping (Commercial Invoices, AES filing).

Compensation:
The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
San Francisco Salary Range
$34.28 - $42.84 USD
