Position Overview

The Technical Product Owner plays a critical role in driving the strategy, discovery, and execution of complex system integrations, product enhancements, and customer-facing features. Acting as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders, this role ensures alignment between business objectives and technical feasibility. The Technical Product Owner will manage the product backlog, facilitate agile ceremonies, and lead technical solutioning sessions, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of innovative solutions.

Key Performance Objectives

Within 30 Days:

  • Develop a deep understanding of existing product architecture, system integrations, and development processes.
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders across IT, Product, and Business teams.
  • Review the current product backlog and gain familiarity with JIRA and Confluence documentation.

Within 90 Days:

  • Lead backlog grooming and sprint planning sessions to ensure well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with developers and architects to refine technical requirements and drive feasible solutions.
  • Begin defining a product roadmap aligned with business goals and technical capabilities.

Within 6 Months:

  • Successfully lead technical solutioning sessions, ensuring alignment on architecture, data flows, and system design.
  • Drive the execution of at least one major system integration or product enhancement from discovery to deployment.
  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in backlog management, prioritization, and sprint execution.

Ongoing:

  • Continuously evaluate product performance and identify opportunities for optimization and innovation.
  • Ensure ongoing enhancement of digital products to align with evolving business and market needs.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, advocating for technical best practices while delivering business value.

Performance-Based Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Program Management, Product Management, or Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Preferred: 5+ years in a technical Product Management role.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and software development best practices.
  • Hands-on experience working with development teams, writing technical requirements, and participating in API, data model, and architecture discussions.
  • Experience with CI/CD environments and web technologies like React.js, NodeJS, and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as MUI and Headless UI, as well as accessibility best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex web development challenges.

  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills to align cross-functional teams and drive decision-making.
  • Strong leadership in influencing teams and prioritizing product development initiatives.

  • A creative problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and proactively resolves technical and logistical challenges.
  • Demonstrates innovative thinking in identifying opportunities for product enhancement and process improvement.
