Network Engineer III
We're hiring a Network Engineer III
The Role
As a Network Engineer at Plexus Worldwide, you will be directly responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and securing our global network infrastructure. You will ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems through a proactive and hands-on approach. This role is not only technical—it requires a mindset of continuous improvement and initiative to build and maintain a best-in-class network environment.
Employee Value Proposition
This is a high-impact opportunity to take ownership of Plexus’ networking infrastructure from the ground up. You'll be empowered to deploy new technologies and implement robust solutions with modern platforms including Palo Alto, Cisco, Meraki, and Aruba. Your input will directly influence the scalability and resilience of Plexus' operations. If you're someone who thrives on digging deep into systems, driving innovation, and preventing problems before they arise—this is your next challenge.
Key Performance Objectives (KPOs)
- Deliver 3+ impactful network enhancements or optimizations annually, each tied to measurable improvements (e.g., reduced latency, improved uptime, increased throughput, or enhanced security posture).
- Coach and mentor IT team members on best practices in networking, creating a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Lead network integrations that support new business initiatives, office expansions, or cross-departmental collaborations within defined timelines and without service disruptions.
Essential Accountabilities
- Proactively monitor and analyze network performance, identifying trends and resolving issues before they impact business operations.
- Design, install, and configure highly secure and resilient networks, including firewalls, switches, routers, and access points.
- Maintain up-to-date security protocols through regular patching and upgrades, especially on all critical network infrastructure.
- Drive implementation of disaster recovery procedures and ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems, escalating and documenting as needed.
- Document all network architecture, processes, changes, and configurations.
- Provide reliable and responsive remote and on-site support to internal users.
- Stay ahead of industry trends by researching and implementing new technologies.
- Collaborate with project teams to support enterprise-wide initiatives requiring network solutions.
- Participate in off-hour maintenance windows or critical fixes as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Performance-Based Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Networking, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise environments.
Certifications:
- At least one certification preferred: CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
Technical Mastery:
- Deep expertise in Cisco routing and switching technologies.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Palo Alto NGFW and Panorama administration.
- Proficient in Prisma VPN (client and clientless), IPsec, and SSL VPN.
- Hands-on experience with Aruba IAP 505, Aruba Central, ClearPass, and 802.1x EAP-TLS.
- Knowledge of SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools.
- Experience with AWS VPC configurations (peering, gateways).
- Strong understanding of SSO/MFA systems, including SAML and Okta.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You're not just a network engineer—you’re a builder, problem-solver, and innovator. You look under the hood and fix what others might ignore. You constantly think ahead, anticipate risks, and implement smarter, more efficient solutions before issues occur. You thrive in dynamic environments and are always seeking ways to level up the network and your team.
