Senior Project Manager (Enterprise)

Scottsdale, Arizona, United States

The Role

The Senior Project Manager leads some of Plexus' most complex and strategically important initiatives, translating business priorities into actionable plans and guiding cross-functional teams from initial strategy through implementation and measurable results. This role manages scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and change while maintaining clear accountability across the project team.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will work directly with executive sponsors and business leaders to bring structure to ambiguous challenges, influence key decisions, and maintain alignment across functions and markets. You will have the ownership and visibility to shape how critical initiatives are delivered, strengthen EPMO practices, and mentor other project professionals.

Employee Value Proposition

This is an opportunity for an accomplished project leader who wants to move beyond managing individual project plans and have a broader influence on how the organization delivers its most important priorities. You will lead complex, highly visible initiatives, partner directly with senior leaders, and help turn strategy into disciplined execution. The role offers meaningful ownership, broad cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to strengthen enterprise project management capabilities while delivering measurable business outcomes.

Key Performance Objectives

  • Establish credibility and ownership within the first 90 days by learning the business, understanding priority initiatives, building relationships with executive sponsors and project teams, and creating clear visibility into project health.
  • Create disciplined and predictable project execution through clear scope, deliverable-based schedules, decision rights, governance, risk management, and consistent reporting.
  • Deliver priority initiatives from planning through implementation and closeout while achieving approved business objectives, success measures, and readiness requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across departments, markets, and organizational levels while resolving competing priorities and maintaining alignment.
  • Strengthen EPMO capabilities by applying consistent standards, recommending practical improvements, and mentoring project professionals in effective delivery practices.

Performance Accountabilities

End-to-End Project Delivery

  • Manage all aspects of project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, change requests, and stakeholder communications.
  • Build and maintain detailed, deliverable-based project schedules with clear baselines, dependencies, critical paths, resource constraints, milestones, and recovery plans.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and accountability while leading planning sessions, working meetings, status reviews, steering meetings, readiness reviews, go-live activities, retrospectives, and lessons-learned sessions.

Risk, Change & Executive Governance

  • Maintain accurate and current project documentation, including schedules, status reports, financial information, risk and issue registers, decision logs, action items, and change requests.
  • Identify risks and issues early, assign accountable owners, develop mitigation and contingency strategies, and escalate matters requiring leadership action or decisions.
  • Evaluate proposed changes to scope, schedule, budget, resources, or expected outcomes; facilitate the change-control process; and provide concise, decision-ready updates on project health, milestones, financial considerations, resource constraints, and required decisions.

Stakeholder, Vendor & Implementation Readiness

  • Manage stakeholder relationships across departments, markets, and organizational levels while resolving competing priorities and partnering with business, digital product, technology, operations, finance, legal, compliance, marketing, sales, and other functions.
  • Coordinate third-party vendors and external partners to keep contractual deliverables, timelines, costs, dependencies, and performance expectations aligned with the project plan.
  • Incorporate business processes, communications, training, operational support, transition requirements, acceptance criteria, executive approvals, and readiness activities into implementation and go-live plans.
  • Measure project results against approved objectives and success metrics, complete post-launch closeout, and transition outstanding actions to accountable business owners before closure.

EPMO Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply EPMO methodologies, governance standards, templates, tools, and reporting requirements consistently while recommending improvements based on project experience and organizational needs.
  • Contribute to portfolio planning, process improvement, governance development, and other strategic initiatives that advance enterprise project management capabilities.
  • Mentor Project Managers, Project Specialists, and other team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, and reinforcement of best practices while fostering collaboration, accountability, transparency, and mutual respect.
