The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about automation, cloud infrastructure, and continuous deployment? We're looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer with expertise in Terraform, cloud architecture, and observability tools to help us build the future of our infrastructure.
As a key player on our team, you'll have the opportunity to design, implement, and manage cutting-edge infrastructure, driving efficiency and innovation throughout the software development lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform:
Drive the strategic design and governance of scalable, secure, and maintainable infrastructure using advanced Infrastructure as Code practices. Set standards and mentor engineers in Terraform best practices across teams.
- Automation & CI/CD Strategy:
Architect and oversee the evolution of CI/CD pipelines across the organization, ensuring they meet the needs of diverse teams and complex deployments. Champion automation at scale and enable continuous delivery with high reliability.
- Cloud Architecture Leadership:
Lead the design of cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms, balancing performance, cost, security, and scalability. Evaluate and introduce architectural patterns that align with long-term business goals.
- Observability & Reliability Engineering:
Define and implement best-in-class observability frameworks using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog. Guide teams in proactively identifying and resolving infrastructure and application bottlenecks.
- Security, Compliance & Governance:
Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate security and compliance (e.g., SOC2, FedRAMP, ISO) into infrastructure design. Provide thought leadership on policy enforcement, secrets management, and zero-trust architectures.
- Technical Leadership & Documentation:
Lead cross-functional initiatives, develop architectural standards, and ensure clear, scalable documentation. Mentor engineers and advocate for a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Performance Engineering & Root Cause Analysis:
Act as a final escalation point for complex infrastructure issues. Lead performance tuning and root cause analysis initiatives that impact system-wide reliability.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or Principal-level role.
- Proven track record architecting complex infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC tools at scale.
- Expert knowledge of CI/CD architecture, including design, implementation, and optimization across large teams.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell with an emphasis on building reusable tools and automation frameworks.
- Deep expertise in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), including cost modeling, resilient design patterns, and security architectures.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and container orchestration in production.
- Demonstrated experience guiding teams in infrastructure observability, monitoring strategy, and proactive reliability improvements.
- Ability to influence at all levels—engineering teams, leadership, and stakeholders—with exceptional communication and strategic thinking.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading technical direction in cross-functional teams.
