The Opportunity
The Platform Components team is responsible for enabling fundamental systems such as notifications, auditing and internal tooling. These platform capabilities and APIs are not only necessary for enabling user journeys and integrations with larger ecosystems but also responsible for building trust with customers by secure access to data, tracking of sensitive actions etc. As Postman evolves in its journey and has a much larger user base, these platform capabilities become increasingly important to support the scale and mature the product.
What You'll Do
As the Engineering Manager for the Platform-Components(IAM) Squad, you will:

Understand the broader vision of Postman and onboard the team to work towards achieving it collaboratively, keeping the highest engineering standards.

Identify and own end-to-end problem space (Product features, End User Experience, Technology and business), provide multi-quarter roadmaps to the team, embrace constraints and prioritize effectively.

Think Platform, engage with Postman's internal product teams, understand their business criticality and plan to enable them with relevant and scalable APIs to support audibility and notifications.

Understand the key customer base, especially the enterprise customer segment, to build trust by secure, scalable and industry grade features which can fit in the larger ecosystem.

Foster the team's growth and advancement by engaging in discussions with team members regarding career development, ensuring their progression aligns with the long-term vision and broader business requirements.

Comprehend and highlight the critical importance to the business, define and take ownership of the roadmap and project milestones, and effectively communicate key information to stakeholders.
About You
-
7+ years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at Postman’s scale.

Proficient with one or more programming languages (Javascript, NodeJS, Java)

2 years of experience in people management and building cohesive teams.

Strong interpersonal skills and focus on team-orientation. Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and written) with a wide range of people and role versatility.

Has a point of view and is comfortable with prior experience in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders.
Nice to have

Prior experience of building platform components such as notification service, at scale.

Previous experience with User/Team management, role engineering, and access control.
