Oregon Allergy Associates is seeking a Part Time Allergy Injection Specialist to join our growing team. We are looking for a confident, patient-focused healthcare professional with injection experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate has experience administering injections, such as a phlebotomist, medical assistant, injection specialist, or similar clinical role. Allergy immunotherapy experience is a plus, but not required. We provide training to the right candidate who is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to safe, compassionate patient care.

The Allergy Injection Specialist is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of allergy immunotherapy services in a high-volume allergy clinic. This role supports patients throughout the immunotherapy process through allergy injection administration, patient education, biologic medication coordination, allergy extract management, clinical documentation, and specialty clinic workflow support.

The Allergy Injection Specialist applies advanced knowledge of allergen immunotherapy protocols, biologic therapies, medication safety, and USP 797 standards related to allergen extract preparation and sterile compounding. This position follows established clinical protocols and safety standards while providing exceptional patient care, education, and coordination throughout treatment.

Immunotherapy Program Management & Patient Education

  • Provide education to patients starting allergy shots or biologic therapies, including treatment expectations, schedules, safety, administration, side effects, and adherence.
  • Conduct allergy shot education visits and serve as a clinical resource for immunotherapy and biologic-related questions.
  • Coordinate patient treatment schedules, missed appointments, follow-up, and continuity of care.Allergy Extract Preparation & USP 797 Compliance
  • Prepare, organize, label, store, and track patient-specific allergy extracts according to provider orders, clinic protocols, and USP 797 standards.
  • Monitor extract inventory, expiration dates, documentation, quality checks, and patient-specific requirements.
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies, safety concerns, or preparation issues.Biologic Medication Coordination
  • Coordinate ordering, prior authorizations, pharmacy communication, scheduling, and documentation for allergy-related biologic therapies.
  • Track medication status and support timely delivery, administration, and continuity of treatment.
  • Collaborate with providers, pharmacies, and clinical teams to resolve medication access barriers.

Systemic Reaction Management & Clinical Safety

  • Recognize and respond to allergic reactions according to established emergency protocols.
  • Assist providers and clinical staff during reactions and emergencies and accurately document treatment, patient response, and follow-up.
  • Maintain competency in injection administration, reaction management, emergency procedures, immunotherapy safety, and USP 797 requirements.

Injection Scheduling & Patient Coordination

  • Coordinate allergy injection, new-start education, biologic, and immunotherapy follow-up appointments.
  • Address scheduling and treatment questions and reinforce adherence to recommended immunotherapy schedules.

EHR & Administrative Support

  • Complete accurate immunotherapy documentation, injection records, medication tracking, patient communications, and treatment updates.
  • Manage immunotherapy-related faxes, correspondence, records, and clinical documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, clinical teams, pharmacies, and external partners.

Training, Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain current knowledge of immunotherapy, biologic therapies, medication safety, USP 797, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support team training and competency related to allergy injection workflows and patient safety.
  • Promote compliance with clinic policies and identify opportunities to improve workflow, safety, and efficiency.

General Physical Requirements 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings.

  • Works closely with providers and care team to ensure efficient patient flow and positive patient experiences

This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.

It is our company policy to provide, free of charge, the Hepatitis Vaccine Series for all employees of the company who may be exposed to blood or body fluids.
1.    Employees will be counseled upon hire regarding the vaccination series.
2.    Upon the signing of the proper form, the employee will begin their series at the next scheduled vaccination day after hiring.
3.    The series will be administered by a nurse at a designated clinic or hospital.
4.    Documentation will be kept in the employee's permanent Personnel File.
5.    When necessary, the Medical Director will determine follow up protocol.
Eligibility for Hepatitis Vaccine will be decided by the employee's supervisor based on their possible exposure to blood or body fluids during job performance, such as (but not limited to): Phlebotomy, Sample handling, Testing, Courier of Specimens, Direct patient contact/care, Janitorial Services.
