Job Overview

Proconex, an Emerson Impact Partner based in Royersford, PA, is seeking an Account Manager to support and grow existing industrial client accounts. This role focuses on industrial valves, regulators, PLCs, Emerson software solutions, and special projects. The Account Manager will develop strong customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, provide technical guidance, and deliver innovative solutions tailored to customer needs across industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and water treatment.

With a largely established customer base, this position emphasizes account growth, relationship management, consultative selling, and helping customers solve complex process and automation challenges through Emerson's industry-leading technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients by understanding their business needs and delivering effective solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer adoption of Emerson products, including valves, regulators, software, and special projects.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to gain insight into operational challenges, improvement opportunities, and future business needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing responsive support and exceptional customer service.

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve territory revenue and growth objectives.
  • Grow existing accounts through consultative selling and the expansion of product and service offerings.
  • Partner with marketing to develop proposals, presentations, and customer-facing materials.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements that balance customer requirements with company profitability goals.
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities within assigned accounts and target industries.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, internal stakeholders, and manufacturer partners to build trust, influence decisions, and drive successful outcomes.
  • Operate independently while collaborating across sales, engineering, services, marketing, and support teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Product Expertise & Market Awareness

  • Maintain current knowledge of industrial valves, automation equipment, and Emerson product offerings.
  • Provide technical guidance and product recommendations based on customer applications and operational requirements.
  • Support customers with advanced industrial software and equipment solutions.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and market developments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop an understanding of emerging markets, including hydrogen and nuclear energy applications.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% within the assigned territory to support customer meetings, plant visits, business development activities, and ongoing account management responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of sales, account management, business development, or customer-facing experience within industrial automation, process manufacturing, or related industrial markets.
  • 3+ years of experience working with industrial process equipment, automation systems, control systems, or related technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience providing technical, consultative, or solution-based support to industrial customers.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications and CRM tools to manage customer relationships and sales activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in hydrogen, nuclear energy, or other emerging industrial markets.
  • Experience with Emerson products and solutions, including Fisher valves, regulators, and industrial software.
  • Familiarity with products from Flowserve, Metso, Samson, or Schneider Electric.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ABB, or Honeywell systems.
  • Previous experience growing existing customer accounts through consultative selling and solution development.
  • Knowledge of process industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, power generation, or water/wastewater treatment.
