Legal Engineer (m/f/d)

Berlin

About the Job

As a key growth accelerator, A11 partners with Europe’s most ambitious startups and scaleups, corporates and SMBs to connect them with top-tier talent ready to make an impact.

We’re looking for a motivated Legal Engineer (m/f/d) to join and help build the legal product foundations at one of our Ecosystem companies.

As a Legal Engineer you’ll play a central role in ensuring the quality, accuracy and relevance of the company’s legal content and AI-powered product for the German market, working at the intersection of law, product and technology.

Join the A11 Ecosystem – Our Ecosystem company is a fast-growing legal tech company building AI software that helps law firms research, analyse and draft legal work faster and more reliably, with verifiable sources at its core.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Own the construction, maintenance and strategic development of the company’s proprietary legal database
  • Act as part of the product team and serve as the first legal expert testing and validating product outputs
  • Map legal sources required for different law modules such as labor, civil, and administrative law
  • Establish processes to ensure legal data is accurate, relevant, and consistent over time
  • Collaborate closely with data annotators and AI engineers to define and create high-quality validation and training datasets
  • Work with partners and local law firms to identify relevant legal sources and data acquisition priorities
  • Act as a bridge between local legal practice, sales and international data and product teams
  • Help shape standards, ways of working and culture as one of the first hires in Germany

Typical tasks:

  • Research, review and structure German legal sources including legislation, case law and templates
  • Test AI-generated outputs and explain why answers are correct or incorrect
  • Translate legal requirements into clear input for product and data teams
  • Support sales demos and customer conversations with legal and technical explanations
  • Collect structured feedback from users and customers and feed it back into product development
  • Coordinate daily with the data acquisition team and legal experts in the headquarter

Your Profile:

  • German law degree with 1–3 years of experience practicing law, ideally in law firms
  • Desire to pursue an alternative and challenging career path in a fast-growing environment
  • Curious, analytical mindset and willingness to build rather than practice traditionally
  • Clear communicator, comfortable working with product, data, and engineering teams
  • Strong plus: experience in Product or Program Management or in managing legal knowledge bases

Please note that this position is based in Berlin/Munich

Benefits and Perks:

  • Competitive annual salary range with equity participation
  • Work in a well-funded legal AI tech company with an ambitious, smart and international team
  • Be one of the first to make GTM Germany a success and grow with the company
  • Performance bonuses tied directly to measurable results and impact
  • Regular team retreats and off-sites
  • Hybrid work setting

If you’re eager to join the A11 Ecosystem and shape what’s next, we want to hear from you!
