Salary: £105,504 to £139,882

Pulse Doctors is excited to be recruiting for an experienced Histopathology Consultant to join our client based in Somerset. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work for a leading healthcare provider who is renowned for its commitment to excellence in patient care and medical research. Our client is a major acute-care district general hospital, the hospital has nearly 600 beds and occupies a 52-acre site. It serves a catchment population of around 500,000 people and is known for its comprehensive range of services, including a major accident and emergency department, and is affiliated with many popular universities in the area. The Histopathology Department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and is staffed by a team of highly skilled professionals. The department provides a full range of diagnostic services, including surgical pathology, cytopathology, and autopsy services. 

Responsibilities will include: 

In this role as a Histopathology Consultant you will perform diagnostic histopathology and cytopathology, participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, and provide expert opinions on histopathological specimens. You will engage in clinical audit and quality improvement activities, supervise and train junior medical staff and laboratory personnel, and contribute to research and development within the department.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent.
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists or equivalent.
  • Full registration (and a licence to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) within 6 months of interview.
