SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...
Pure Storage is seeking a full-time Product Quality Engineer (PQE) to work in our Global Supply Chain Operations Engineering team. This individual will work closely with his/her engineering counterparts in Hardware, Test, Supply Chain Management and Suppliers to ensure product quality KPIs are achieved.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…
- Manage the product quality from NPI to sustaining production, from PCBA subassembly manufacturing to system integration, and field customers.
- Support the development of new products and drive design for manufacturing excellence.
- Develop the BOM structure within the PLM tool.
- Participate in a project team of engineers involved in the specification, design, development, and test of the hardware. Provide manufacturing input to schematic, placement, and route reviews.
- Drive product quality improvement.
- Improve manufacturing operations processes and actively enhance efficiency, consistency, cost avoidance, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate failure analysis with suppliers, determine the root cause of issues and drive corrective action implementation. Bring visibility to potential quality issues to management and follow through to resolution across all supplier sites.
- Establish manufacturing quality standards and process KPI metrics. Generate and publish reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly) on KPI metrics.
- Drive the evaluation and enhancement of the engineering design verification process to release zero design defects to production.
- Develop manufacturing process and best practice documentation.
- Provide technical direction through the investigation and evaluation of new manufacturing technologies.
- Assist in early prototype testing and troubleshooting/debug to find the root cause of failures and drive back fixes to engineering or contract manufacturer.
- Perform value engineering and cost reduction activities.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- 10+ years as a product or manufacturing engineering in high-tech operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or other technical manufacturing-related disciplines; advanced degree preferred.
- ONE QUALITY TEAM: Experience working with multinational cross-functional teams in manufacturing and effectively interface with engineering, support, contract manufacturers, program management, administrative, and management personnel to ensure the highest quality standards for our products.

- Strong experience in product quality management and supplier management
- Strong knowledge of production quality monitoring methods and metrics.
- Strong knowledge of PCBA, subassembly, and system-level Mfg and test processes.
- Strong knowledge of failure analysis approaches and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of quality improvement methods such as 8D, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA, etc.
- Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic, and, at times, ambiguous environment.
- Experience working with Agile PLM & Netsuite ERP systems is a plus
- Detail-oriented, analytical, process savvy, and customer-focused yet flexible and adaptable to business needs
- Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment with minimal direction
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced changing business environment
The annual base salary range is: $163,000 - $246,000
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
