Senior Quality Engineering Manager, Hyperscale Line of Business
We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.
This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
We are building a first-of-its-kind product that will redefine how hyperscalers consume flash. This co-engineered solution with some of the world’s largest cloud providers will replace raw storage with Pure’s DirectFlash technology—delivering dramatic gains in power efficiency, density, and reliability, while simplifying operations at hyperscale. As a founding leader in our Hyperscale Line of Business, you’ll help shape the quality culture for a new product family that will run at massive scale in customer datacenters worldwide.
We’re looking for a Senior Quality Engineering Manager who will own the end-to-end product quality strategy—from defining bulletproof system-level test plans to ensuring that quality practices are embedded in every stage of development. This role combines hands-on technical leadership, people management, and a customer-first mindset. You will lead a team chartered with ensuring that our Hyperscale solution meets the exacting standards of hyperscaler deployments. Your scope will go beyond testing—you’ll influence design, drive automation, champion release readiness, and serve as the quality voice for both engineering and customers.
SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE…
- Follow Your Feature: Ensure quality across the lifecycle of new features—from concept through release and beyond, closing the loop on field learnings.
- System Test: Define and lead full-stack test strategies, spanning SSDs, embedded software, system integration, and hyperscaler environments.
- Release Quality: Establish rigorous release criteria and serve as the final quality gatekeeper for system-level readiness.
- Escalation Escapes: Partner with our escalation teams to reproduce customer issues, drive root cause analysis, and ensure permanent closure.
- Automation Champion: Drive automation at every layer—from developer CI pipelines to large-scale system test harnesses—building a culture where automation is the default.
- End-to-End Test Strategy: Architect and enforce bulletproof end-to-end test plans, covering functionality, performance, scale, resiliency, and reliability.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or System Test, with at least 5 years in leadership/management.
- Proven track record leading quality engineering for systems products (storage, networking, SSDs, or large-scale distributed software).
- Expertise in test automation frameworks and languages (Python, Go, Java, etc.), and experience embedding automation into developer workflows.
- Strong background in system integration testing and validating products in hyperscale or cloud-scale environments.
- Experience collaborating with support, escalation, and customer-facing teams to close the loop on quality issues.
- Demonstrated ability to define release quality metrics and drive organizations toward them.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
