Quality Automation Engineer , DTG
We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.
This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLE
As a Quality Automation Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the integrity and reliability of our data-intensive infrastructure. Joining our Master Data Management (MDM) team, your mission is to bridge the gap between complex data engineering and seamless software delivery. You won’t just be finding bugs; you’ll be the go-to developer for your components, architecting the continuous integration frameworks that allow us to harness data at scale with absolute confidence. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead technical sub-system designs and drive quality strategies that have a global impact on how Pure Storage manages its most critical data assets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design CI/CD Pipelines: Design and optimize continuous build and integration infrastructure using GitHub Actions to ensure rapid, high-quality deployments of MDM applications.
- Drive Automation Strategy: Develop and maintain robust test scripts using Python and SQL, shifting our testing culture toward a scalable, automation-first approach.
- Own QA Best Practices: Take end-to-end ownership of QA standards across the SDLC, triaging and resolving complex system issues to ensure product quality meets customer expectations.
- Optimize Data Integrity: Create specialized testing tools and operations to validate complex data integrations, ensuring the accuracy of information across all enterprise systems.
- Collaborative Design Leadership: Partner with developers, product managers, and other QA teams to conduct rigorous code reviews and develop comprehensive test plans for new feature designs.
- KPI & System Performance: Monitor and improve the health of integration systems, identifying bottlenecks in the deployment process to increase overall release velocity and system uptime.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Engineering Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in an industry setting, specifically within QA automation or software development.
- Technical Mastery: Deep proficiency in Python (or similar programming languages) and SQL for developing sophisticated automation scripts and querying complex databases.
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Proven ability to automate deployments and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or industry-standard equivalent tools.
- QA Methodology: Comprehensive grasp of software engineering fundamentals, including experience with Agile frameworks, regression testing, and white-box/black-box testing.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: An analytical mind capable of triaging site issues and implementing creative, scalable solutions for data-intensive projects.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong organizational skills with the ability to satisfy multiple stakeholders and lead feature or sub-system design reviews.
- Location: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague, Czech Republic office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
