MTS - Fleet Insights

Bangalore, India

We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.

This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Staff Engineer on the Fleet Insights team, you will architect the backend intelligence that manages one of the world’s most advanced storage fleets. You’ll lead the technical strategy for high-throughput observability systems, transforming massive telemetry streams into automated root-cause solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional architects, you will solve systemic scale challenges that directly ensure the global reliability of Pure Storage’s infrastructure.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Architect Scalable Intelligence: Design and implement distributed, fault-tolerant systems for telemetry ingestion and real-time event detection, targeting $99.9999\%$ availability for mission-critical fleet observability.

  • Drive Technical Strategy: Lead cross-team architectural initiatives that align long-term platform goals with product innovation, ensuring our services scale ahead of global data growth.

  • Lead the Innovation Lifecycle: Own the end-to-end journey from initial prototyping of predictive fault algorithms to deploying hardened, high-impact services into production.

  • Optimize Operational Excellence: Partner with Data Engineering and Support teams to define robust APIs and data models that improve developer productivity and automate complex system diagnostics.

  • Influence Engineering Culture: Foster a high-performance environment through technical mentorship and design leadership, setting the standard for code resiliency and system maintainability across the organization.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Systems Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in backend languages (such as Go, Python, or Java) with a proven track record of building large-scale distributed systems, message queues (Kafka), or stream processing frameworks.

  • Architectural Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-team technical initiatives, making principled trade-offs between performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

  • Data & Observability Expertise: Deep understanding of telemetry pipelines, log analytics, or cloud-native architectures (AWS/GCP) used to drive automated insights from high-throughput data streams.

  • Strategic Communication: Ability to articulate a clear technical vision to both engineering peers and product leadership, translating business requirements into elegant, scalable software solutions.

  • Location: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bengaluru, India office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
