To help us continue to grow our offerings, we are looking for a Manager within our Engineering department. In this role, you will deliver business value by leading teams focused on designing and developing high-quality software in a highly collaborative environment. This role reports to the Engineering Director or Head of Engineering.

  • Compensation Range: $145,152 - $154,829

Compensation ranges are determined by role and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the pay range for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Understand, exhibit and promote the company's core values and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring teams are adequately resourced.
  • Advocate for the tools, processes and resource needs to enable teams ongoing success.
  • Contribute to weekly, monthly, quarterly reports for areas of responsibility.
  • Be involved in developing software and tooling (code, algorithms, designs, processes and practices).
  • Be involved in long term product and technology strategy (ideation, reviewing and refinement) which includes developing forward looking design and strategy which may constitute intellectual property that belongs to Resi/Pushpay.
  • Participate in leadership on-call rotation.
  • Help to forecast the platform hosting budget and measure the actual spend.
  • Guide the overall direction and evolution of our production, integration and deployment infrastructure and monitoring systems.
  • Ensure that the Resi production, integration, and development infrastructure meet the necessary high standards that can be reasonably expected in respect to availability and scalability.
  • Help translate business vision and strategy into a people and process strategy for areas managed.
  • Identifying, mitigating, eliminating roadblocks and bottlenecks in process and practices.
  • Align quality metrics with reliability goals.
  • Helps QA understand failure patterns and improve test cases.
  • Overseeing design, delivery, execution of work aligned with the needs of the business.
  • Oversee the security, scalability, and performance of distributed cloud environments.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience leading DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, QA or similar team.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of cloud technology, software development, distributed systems, delivering software in a SaaS environment.
  • Ability to prioritize automation to improve reliability, reduce manual effort, and increase consistency.
  • The ability to both lead by example and develop in others the skills required to perform the tasks required.
  • Can communicate effectively at all levels of the business in order to represent the needs of the business and the teams which you lead.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Problem solver that possesses excellent judgment skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • High proficiency in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming and scripting languages, such as Groovy, Python, Go, Java, Bash, or  Shell.
  • In-depth knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) for automating testing, builds, and deployments.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize, with the ability to design and manage distributed infrastructure.
  • Experience optimizing and managing cloud-based CDNs (Cloudflare, Fastly) and handling complex global-scale deployments.
  • Expertise in database management (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud-native services (CloudSQL, Cassandra, Clickhouse, etc.).
  • A deep understanding of security best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles, with a focus on cloud infrastructure.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining large-scale, distributed cloud systems (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  •  3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
  • Certifications in GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar cloud technologies.
  • Strong knowledge in Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Helm.
  • A track record of managing and supporting CI/CD pipelines and deploying distributed applications.
  • Strong experience with database management (SQL/NoSQL), monitoring tools, and incident management frameworks.
  • Experience with managed Kubernetes services (e.g., GKE, EKS) and advanced cloud-native services (e.g., serverless, cloud functions).
  • Knowledge of compliance, security standards, and secure infrastructure management.
  • Hands-on experience with New Relic, Jenkins, OpsGenie, Prometheus, or similar observability and alerting tools.

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands: 

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer will be required. This role consistently operates standard office equipment such as computers and phones. This is largely a sedentary role but may occasionally require lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending, or standing as necessary.
