Location & Remote Work for technology and remote-first roles

Our technology team operates under a "remote-first" model, which means we work from home and can live anywhere in Brazil. We also offer the option of working from our São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces, up to twice a week.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Staff Security Engineer to lead the resolution of complex security problems and drive strategic, end-to-end initiatives. This is a hands-on role with cross-functional impact across Software Engineering, SRE, Data, AI/ML, Product, and Operations, connecting technical decisions to business outcomes.

You’ll work on challenges that require deep technical expertise, systems thinking, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to lead without formal authority by building alignment, setting standards, and raising the company’s security maturity.

Responsabilities

  • Turn fixes into standards: build guardrails, paved roads, and hardening to reduce exceptions and make the secure path the default (security by design).
  • Influence architecture decisions with clear trade-offs, reducing risk without slowing delivery.
  • Scale secure development practices across applications, APIs, and AI (practical threat modeling and design reviews, CI/CD, IaC, and hardening).
  • Mentor and raise the technical bar, spreading best practices and increasing team autonomy.
  • Support incident response and continuous improvement (postmortems, corrective actions, recurrence prevention, detection rules, and automations).
  • Write crisp documentation (RFCs, standards, guides, and runbooks) and define clear quality and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in security engineering within technology organizations.
  • Proven track record leading complex, end-to-end technical initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong foundation in applied security: threat modeling, AppSec, architecture, IAM, data protection, AI Security, cloud, and observability.
  • Experience developing security standards for cloud, microservices/APIs, AI, mobile, CI/CD, and IaC.
  • AI-first mindset: uses AI day to day to investigate issues, accelerate analysis and automation, and turn hypotheses into practical, high-quality, secure outcomes.
  • Strong communication and influence plus a hands-on mindset: translate risk into practical decisions, drive alignment through execution, and deliver automation/production improvements.
