Senior HRIS Analyst – Workday Benefits, Reporting & Business Process Lead
Position Summary
The Senior HRIS Analyst – Workday is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for the administration, optimization, and enhancement of Workday across the organization. This position serves as a trusted partner to HR, Benefits, Payroll, Finance, and business stakeholders by delivering scalable solutions, actionable workforce insights, and streamlined business processes that support organizational growth.
The ideal candidate combines deep functional expertise in Workday with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This role will serve as the primary owner of Workday Benefits configuration for the U.S. employee population, lead the annual Open Enrollment process, and drive reporting and analytics capabilities through Discovery Boards, Dashboards, Matrix Reports, Advanced Reports, and Calculated Fields.
This individual will play a key role in enhancing Workday business processes, improving data quality, and delivering meaningful workforce insights that enable data-driven decision-making. The position offers the opportunity to lead high-impact HRIS initiatives in a growing global organization while partnering with stakeholders across multiple functions.
This is a hybrid role, based in any of our U.S. offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the U.S., depending on team and business needs.
What You'll Do
Workday Benefits Administration & Open Enrollment
- Serve as the primary functional owner of Workday Benefits for the U.S. employee population.
- Configure, maintain, and enhance benefit plans, eligibility rules, enrollment events, rates, evidence of insurability, and related business processes.
- Lead the annual Open Enrollment process end-to-end, including planning, configuration, testing, validation, communications support, deployment, and post-enrollment audits.
- Partner closely with Benefits, Payroll, HR Operations, and external vendors to implement plan changes and ensure successful execution of annual enrollment activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Benefits, Absence, and Payroll-related system and integration issues.
- Coordinate testing and validation activities related to benefit changes, vendor integrations, and regulatory requirements.
Reporting, Analytics & Workforce Insights
- Partner with HR leaders and business stakeholders to identify reporting and analytics needs that support strategic workforce decision-making.
- Design, build, and maintain Workday Discovery Boards, Dashboards, Matrix Reports, Advanced Reports, and Calculated Fields.
- Develop executive-level workforce metrics, scorecards, KPIs, and reporting solutions that drive business insights.
- Create reporting frameworks that support compliance, talent management, workforce planning, compensation, benefits administration, and organizational effectiveness.
- Analyze HR data and present actionable recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Business Process Management & System Optimization
- Gather business requirements and facilitate discovery sessions with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday business processes to improve efficiency, compliance, data integrity, and user experience.
- Document current and future state business processes, system requirements, and configuration decisions.
- Recommend and implement enhancements that align Workday functionality with evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with HR and cross-functional partners to evaluate new Workday functionality and identify opportunities for adoption.
HRIS Operations & Project Leadership
- Manage the HRIS support queue and resolve day-to-day system requests and issues.
- Lead or support HRIS projects from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
- Perform system testing for Workday releases, enhancements, integrations, and new functionality.
- Coordinate and support Workday's bi-annual feature releases, including impact analysis, testing, and stakeholder communication.
- Participate in the implementation of new Workday modules, features, and integrations.
- Ensure data integrity through audits, reconciliation activities, and ongoing quality assurance processes.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, reporting guides, and process documentation.

What You Should Have
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of HRIS experience, including:
- 2–5 years of hands-on functional Workday experience
- 3–5 years supporting other HCM platforms
- Experience supporting a growing, complex, multi-state and/or global organization.
Workday Expertise
- Advanced knowledge of Workday HCM, Benefits, Absence, Compensation, Reporting, and Security concepts.
- Demonstrated experience owning and administering Workday Benefits configuration.
- Proven experience leading annual Open Enrollment initiatives for a U.S.-based employee population.
- Experience configuring eligibility rules, benefit plans, enrollment events, rates, and related business processes.
- Strong understanding of Benefits, Payroll, and Absence data flows and downstream impacts.
Reporting & Analytics

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to transform data into actionable business insights.
- Experience creating executive-level reporting and presenting findings to leadership audiences.

- Experience gathering business requirements and translating business needs into scalable system solutions.
- Strong experience designing, configuring, documenting, and optimizing Workday Business Processes.
- Proven success leading HRIS projects from inception through implementation and ongoing support.
- Experience with system testing strategies, change management, and release management activities.
Professional Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to balance technical system knowledge with operational business needs.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and quality.

- Experience in a global communications agency or professional services environment is a plus.
Pay Range: $125,000 – $140,000
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.
