Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a versatile Wire Harness Design Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our design services business, collaborating closely with clients to understand their requirements and developing comprehensive wire harness design packages ready for manufacturing.
This is an on-site / hybrid opportunity based at the Re:Build AppliedLogix development center in Rochester, NY.

- Collaborate with clients to gather and understand design requirements for wire harnesses.
- Review and finalize any missing design inputs, ensuring all specifications are accurately captured.
- Utilize industry-leading Cadonix Arcadia software tools to create detailed wire harness designs and documentation.
- Ensure that every design complies with the relevant industry standards and client specifications.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to provide necessary support during the production phase.
- Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback to optimize designs for functional performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Maintain thorough documentation throughout the design process.
- Work in a team environment to develop and refine internal processes to improve design quality.
What you will bring to the team
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in wire harness design.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Strong understanding of electrical first-principles, wire routing, and wire harness assembly techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, IPC, SAE) related to the Aerospace & Defense industries.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality designs on schedule.
