Full Stack Engineer – Documentation

What is The Role:
The Documentation Engineering team at Elastic is responsible for building and maintaining the platform and tools that power user and developer documentation for all Elastic products. As a Full Stack Engineer on this team, you will play a key role in developing our next-generation documentation platform. You’ll work with a small team of engineers and collaborate closely with technical writers and other partners to create a rich, interactive, and outstanding documentation experience.
This role offers the opportunity to tackle exciting engineering challenges while working with innovative technologies in search, AI, and cloud-native solutions. You’ll also be part of a globally distributed team that values openness, collaboration, and continuous learning.
We are currently looking to hire this position in Hungary, Greece, or Spain. Relocation and sponsorship are note offered.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Design and implement a new documentation system and website that is performant, interactive, and maintainable.
- Create tooling and automated processes that improve the content authoring experience at Elastic.
- Maintain, update, and improve legacy build systems and dependencies while ensuring automated test coverage.
- Work closely with our documentation product manager and technical writers to create and ship valuable features to our documentation build system.
- Build with Elastic’s Search, AI, Observability, and Security products.
- Provide Pull Request reviews and guidance to peers.
- Proactively participate in team conversations and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Collaborate with other parts of the company on cross team features and topics.
What You Will Bring:
- Real passion for documentation and its role in the customer experience.
- A positive demeanor and a curious mind.
- Experience with .NET or another statically typed language.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and front-end frameworks.
- Experience writing automated tests.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently in a distributed environment with colleagues across the globe.
- Self-motivated, good attention to detail, and highly organized.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Bonus Points
- Experience building documentation systems.
- Experience developing scalable services and applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience using a cloud platform such as AWS.
- Love open source development, and have contributed to some project somewhere (doesn't have to be ours).
