About the role:

Rescue.co is on the lookout for a detail-obsessed, data-driven Research Assistant (RA) to play a pivotal role in our mission to deliver world-class emergency response services. As a research assistant, you'll be at the frontline of our follow-up process, connecting with patients who’ve used our services and capturing crucial insights to inform patient care, system improvements, and public health research.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in our Nairobi office. The role comes with clearly defined performance targets of 1,000 patient follow-ups per month. If you're energized by structured work, driven by metrics, and thrive on precision, this role could be your perfect fit.

This is what you will do:

  • Lead empathetic, high-volume phone interviews with patients using a structured guide, gathering meaningful insights that directly shape our emergency care outcomes.
  • Own the integrity of our data by identifying and reconciling missing, duplicate, or inconsistent patient records with a keen eye for detail.
  • Flag and report discrepancies swiftly and accurately, ensuring all issues are logged and tracked through our data verification systems.
  • Uphold the highest standards of data privacy by rigorously complying with security and confidentiality protocols in every interaction and entry.
  • Adhere to rigorous quality control procedures, meticulously documenting all reviewed files in line with site-specific verification protocols.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or current enrollment in a degree program) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with conducting phone interviews, data entry, management, or verification processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow standardized protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating with a remote team.

Bonus points if:

  • Previous experience with clinical or trauma registry data.
  • Knowledge of research ethics and data security protocols.
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare or academic research setting.
